I'm by no means a wildlife photographer, so please don't expect too much - there's only one small animal in this post.

PhotoFeed Theme Contest - Wildlife Photography
As mentioned above, I'm no wildlife photographer, I'm much too impatient, and I didn't think that I would join this weeks PhotoFeed Contest Wilflife Photography, but then I remembered the morning when I met him:

The above image is my contribution to this week's PhotoFeed Contest. The theme of the week is Wilflife Photography. I know, some of you might say that it's only a beaver or that it's nothing special, but for a non-wildlife photographer or better said for me it's quite something ... and it's a cute animal 😊

Some beavers are living at the reservoir where I often go for a walk, but I rarely see them. Either it is still too dark, so that I mostly only hear them smashing their tail on the water surface to warn the others that a dangerous human is here, or I am too late when they are already sleeping in their lodge.
They don't have dams here at this lake, but they have built some quite hidden lodges into the steep lakeshore.

Once, a while before I took these photos, there was a very young beaver that was curious enough to get very close to me, but then an older one smashed its tail on the water and the youngster swam away. It didn't seem to feel any fear and I didn't want to scare it by pointing the camera on it, so I don't have taken photos from this lovely moment.

The photos in this post were made during a morning walk about two years ago. I was quite lucky to see another curious beaver after the youngster I mentioned above, having its morning swim. Unfortunately, I have only had my 70-200mm lens with me. The 150-600mm lens, which I have had back then, would have been much better to get the beaver bigger in the images, but I was happy anyway.
The beaver saw me and wasn't scared at all. He swam towards me, had a closer look to see if I mean any danger and then he swam slowly away, so that I have had enough time to take a few photos.

All photos were taken with the Canon EOS R and the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L lens.

Beavers are really cute. They're also really important to the history of Canada. It used to be a joke amongst my friends and I; the US places a majestic bald eagle on it's coins, and we put moose and beavers. But they really are industrious creatures. And cute.
Oh yes, they are cute and busy builders. I like them a lot.
The bald eagles look beautiful and majestic, but I would prefer a family of beavers in my neighborhood 😁🦫

It's not too often we get to capture wildlife and when we do it is usually just for a second or two. By the time we get the camera ready, the wildlife we were looking to take a picture of is long gone.
The fact that this little guy stuck around gave you the opportunity to shoot some great photos.
Right, and I just don't have the patience to wait somewhere for hours until an animal eventually walks by 😴
But such situations when an animal is curious and thinks I am no danger, give me the chance to take photos. Thank you so much kindly that you like my photos 😀

What a cute guy is this beaver and even better they are very interesting busy animals making dams in the rivers. I am glad this little fellow was friendly, he gave you other opportunity to take a photo of a wildlife animal, which gave you a photo to join in with this competition. I think this is called synchronicity @joshannpiber, it took a while to come together but it did after a couple of years. Lovely shots as usual.
I think after the Winter I will try to take more photos of the beavers, I just have to be patient and wait 😁

Second to last photo gives a nice view from top to tail and big beautiful brown soft eyes.
Would love to see a beaver but would have to visit the North!

Too many people I don't blame you never pleasant nor is strong wind up there.
No beach today, not quite up to facing inland crowds either, home for awhile and perhaps during the week will escape. Trying to avoid the mayhem this time of year brings to the coast.

I think beavers are amazing little workers, cutting down a tree by using their huge teeth and making a dam to live in. I was able to photograph the dam one day but didn’t see the beaver. I know they are around but they don’t want to show themselves.

They work at night and sleep mostly during the day, but in the early morning you might see them coming home.
