Nostalgia
Nostalgia can be defined as the sorrow we feel for something we had, and now no longer have.
It is a feeling of longing for the past, which we usually associate with pleasant sensations, and which we may experience at certain times in our lives.
Nostalgia is usually associated with a fond memory of childhood or adolescence, a loved one, a city or a place, a personal object, or an event in our lives.
These photos from my personal archive were taken a couple of years ago during a brief visit to El Hatillo, a picturesque and colorful town near the city of Caracas, which is characterized by its well-preserved colonial houses, many of which are now used as restaurants, art galleries and shops.
As I have described in previous posts, I process the original photographs using the editing tools offered in their free versions by the applications Picsart and Snapseed.
La nostalgia puede definirse como la pena que se siente por algo que se tuvo, y que actualmente, ya no se tiene.
Es un sentimiento de añoranza por el pasado, al cual solemos asociar con sensaciones agradables, y que podemos experimentar en ciertos momentos de nuestras vidas.
La nostalgia generalmente se encuentra asociada con un recuerdo cariñoso de la niñez o la adolescencia, a un ser querido, a una ciudad o a un lugar, a un objeto personal, o a un suceso en nuestras vidas.
Estas fotos pertenecientes a mi archivo personal, las tomé un par de años atrás durante una breve visita a El Hatillo, una pintoresca y colorida población cercana a la ciudad de Caracas, que se caracteriza por sus bien conservadas viviendas coloniales, muchas de las cuales, han sido destinadas actualmente para albergar restaurantes, galerías de arte y locales comerciales.
Como he descrito en posts anteriores, las fotografías originales las proceso haciendo uso de las herramientas de edición que ofrecen en sus versiones gratuitas las aplicaciones Picsart y Snapseed.
