I welcome you all to a new blog today. In today's blog I will share some photography I took from a puja pandal outside of Kolkata that I visited. I took these photographs while visiting a Puja pandal in a place called Sodpur.
I went to this Sodpur in the evening of Shuba Navami. After reaching Sodpur station and walking a short distance from there, the first pandal I went to was this pandal in the island premises. I saw this pandal in various videos on YouTube. The video of this pandal on YouTube was so beautiful that I rushed to Sodpur to see this pandal in the evening of Navami. Below I share some photographs taken from this pandal and some description about this pandal...
The club celebrated its 73rd year of Durgotsava celebrations this year at the Deep premises. It is located at No. 2 Deshbandhu Nagar, Sodpur. I visited this place again after about five years to visit the Puja pandal. It takes so much time to see pujas around Kolkata and home. Pujo pandals are not seen in other places. But this year after visiting many puja pandals around home and Kolkata, I went to this place in Sodpur.
This year the club's theme was "Island Courtyard" and the cry of the bamboo. They wanted to convey their theme through this theme that as the use of bamboo is decreasing day by day it is becoming difficult for the people who depended on bamboo for their livelihood. The use of bamboo is decreasing day by day due to which there are many alternatives available in the market of bamboo products. That's why the bamboo is crying out to bring their use back to the people which was the main objective of the theme of this pandal. The pandal was decorated so beautifully with bamboo, wood and lighting that grabbed everyone's attention. I really enjoyed visiting this pandal. The pandal was wonderfully made by the artists of this pandal. The artists here showed how beautiful things can be made with bamboo and gave us a hint that we should come back to using bamboo by decorating these pandals. If you see the photos I have shared, you will understand how beautifully they decorated this pandal.
