Back on Hive
After a break of more than 7 months, I am back here on the Hive Blockchain. During a visit to Berlin, @gunnarheilmann motivated me to become active here again.

Light Painting Adventure in the Berlin Area
A few months ago I had the opportunity to spend a whole weekend in Berlin. Sven Gerard @lichtkunstfoto invited me for a light painting session in and around Berlin. The first night we went to an old abandoned bridge.
This picture was taken by Sven during location scouting in daylight.
After a "walk" of about 2 km with way too much equipment, we finally reached the bridge. I was very impressed by the construction. The efforts were worth it and we started with the first light painting bridge's base.
You can find a really great article about the night at the bridge and what Sven @lichtkunstfoto has already done there here, if you are interested.

The Bridge Part 2
The Bridge Part 1
How we made this shot? (in the title)
First we created the light figure in the middle with the camera rotation technique. While the camera was covered and kept running, we then climbed up to a second tripod on the bridge. The camera was mounted on the previously aligned tripod and I placed myself in the scene as the model while Sven illuminated the bridge. Job done.
Job erledigt.

Red bridge
This picture was taken at the end of a creative night. Sven made himself available as a model while I illuminated the bridge with the KDlitker E6 (red). I'm not completely satisfied with the result, because you can see the light cone of the torch at the end. But I really like the red of the lamp.
Thanks to Sven @lichtkunstfoto for a really impressive night with lots of light and fun! It was an honour.😎
All images were taken in several steps, during a longexposure. Nothing is added or removed in post processing. We love pure lightpainting!
What is light painting?
Light painting is a photographic technique in which exposures are made by moving a hand-held light source while taking a long exposure photograph, either to illuminate a subject or to shine a point of light directly at the camera, or by moving the camera itself during exposure. Nothing is added or removed in post processing.

The red silhouette is the winner here for me. Glad to see you back and I'm not the only one wondering whether I'm taking too much gear out in the dark!
Only two "small" bags and two bottles of beer. 🤣😂
Ah so that's where I've been going wrong. No beer. Will rectify this on my next trip!
Thank you Chris, I'm glad you like it. Do you always take too much stuff with you? And we thought we were the only ones. Welcome to the club of the pack mules.😂🤣😂
@gunnarheilmann motivated me during my visit in Berlin to become active on Hive again. I've been very "social media" sick lately, too much hate and bad vibes when you open it. And Instagram is the worst place for light painting art, in my opinion.
Ya'll are carrying too much stuff during your LP trips guys 😂
Really? Thank you for the advice. Now I know why I was so tired and exhausted after 2 km. 😂🤣
You just need to check, after your session, how many tools you carried and how many you actually used and you'll carry lesser and lesser ;)
I remember in Belgium how guys were heavily equiped, for nothing but tiredness at the end. A lot of lightpainters think that gear is the key to be creative, I don't.
As I visit tricky locations with few space and long distances to walk, I took the habit to take the minimal equipment.
I left IG recently, there is no appreciation for images at all there. As much as I like breasts, I don't want to see endless streams of women trying to give me a black eye! I tolerate FB but I think eventually that will go too. I like the idea that my work is giving me a reward and not giving it to the "Zuck" ;-)
I understand what you mean and I agree with you. It's just awful now, everyone wants to sell me something I don't need. Buying followers and likes makes no sense to me at all. The only winner in this game is Mr. Sucker-berg.
I have found my motivation for Hive again, even if posts take more time to create 😜. But I think it's worth it.
There used to be phenomenom here in the UK where "trainspotters" used to hang around on railway platforms collecting the numbers off trains and noting the time and location. IG is the same for me as trainspotting, they just don't realise it haha!
Haha, I know this phenomenon from Germany too. And not only with trains, but also with planes 🤣.
At some point, this huge advertising bubble will burst because there will be no one left to buy anything. Everyone just wants to be an "influencer", and that can't work in the long term.
The most important thing you need to know about Light Painting Adventure is that it rhymes, and the second most important thing is that it's a lot of fun!
You're probably right, I always have a lot of fun with light painting 😎. If what you do is no longer fun, then you should stop. 😉
Great team work! Thats the spirit of Lightpainters 😎 meeting in the night in collaborative creation. Yes
Thank you very much for the curation. I appreciate it very much. 😀
