Spring - the season of newborns

First, I must comment on my long absence. Unfortunately, my laptop died and I had to go to the service and had nothing to write on. I took a week off and now I'm back. Thank you guys for your patience!

In May , I had the opportunity to see newborn sheep in their herd, which takes care of meadows in my beloved Beskydy Mountains. Like every newborn of all kinds of animals, these lambs and sheep are so cute. This herd grazes meadows in various places in the Beskydy Mountains and they are only pulled back if it snows on the meadows. They are a kind of sheep that can eat everything - born mowers. Their only problem is that they are not able to break through the layer of snow and therefore they are returned to the sheepfold.

The flock counts about 150 sheep and has three rams who are not afraid of anything and are good fighters. Thanks to them, this year has been quite a joyful one in terms of new births. The herd welcomed more than 40 lambs! )

I'm not a promoter of organizations nor do I have any huge collaboration with them. I only occasionally contribute some money to the restoration of our Beskydy Mountains, which have been in great misery during their history and not many people care about them. But these guys from CSOP Salamandr are doing a great job and if anyone is more interested you can check their website SALAMANDR

They have a 20-year history and among their great achievements are the revitalization of wetlands, taking care of meadows with sheep, and the restoration of a rare butterfly that lives only here, the Modrásek. But to get back to the sheep, let's take a look at those little cuties!

I was grateful to see these little beauties and learn something new about the way our Beskydy Mountains are managed. I'm glad for every repaired forest and wetland that retains water in the landscape and we know how to get here in today's world. If anyone is interested in even more, they can look here and if they want, purchase some gifts for the sheep or donate to other projects (I don't get a commission from this, I do it because I like what these people are doing and I have witnessed the places they have revitalized myself). Unfortunately, this website is only in Czech language.
