This week I have been working on a piece composed by @giampaolo19 a while back. The text and video are in Italian, but I gather it is based on the style of Bruce Springsteen. It is challenging as the bass beat moves around a lot whilst the high-hat and snare keep to the same pattern throughout. I have found it quite hard, but I can sometimes play it right all the way through, even if it is not particularly quick. What I managed to video was not my best performance, but I may not do better today. Some hits may not have registered on the audio, but I think I played just about all of them in the right places.
I am reading the drum notation, which is similar to normal music notation. Each note position indicates a particular drum or cymbal. I know some people have some fear of music notation, but it is an effective way to transfer information and not that hard to learn.
I will work on something else this week and will look at more of Giampaolo's posts for ideas.

Drums was the most authentic piece of kit on the Rock Band game, you should have tried it (ancient history now).
I've never played any of those games, but can imagine drums would work fairly well. Playing the notation is much like playing a game. Really I should have the metronome on and try to keep in time with it. That makes it harder. When you are playing music it is never perfect, but if you make a mistake you just move on to the next bit. Often people won't even notice.
