Though I think trading has existed since time immemorial, since the moment they started trading by barter and exchange of goods, all of these are just a part of trading. From there, it advanced to the buying and selling of goods in exchange for money.
That's just what it means to trade. You get what I need, then I exchange it with something worth the value.
My experience in the crypto space has taught me a lot of lessons. Some people you should never trust, some you should trust, and some you should just play games with. In the crypto space, once you don't know how to vibe with the trend or you are so in a rush that you don't have the patience to read and understand the instructions and warnings, then I guess you have to learn the hard way.
I remembered a time when I had to trade a token. At that time I didn't know where all of these CEX were, all we did mostly was buy and sell through escrows on some group chats. I have always tried to discover what and how those buying a token with money swap the token or make a profit from it.
Yeah, not until one day when I had to face my doom. I was so much in a hurry that day, I was so hungry and anticipating the token drop. Immediately after I got the notifications I headed straight up for the group chat to trade.
After opening the group, I just scrolled down to the last end, then I made an advert that I wanted to trade my token and the amount, so interested buyers should let me know.
Just a few seconds after dropping my advert, someone responded immediately in my dm, with a price, the price was way catchier and more than the price others were bidding to buy at. When I checked, I realized it was the admin himself that wanted to buy it from me.
The hunger and impatience in me had me transact with the buyer immediately, I sent my tokens and waited for the money. He didn’t respond but said he had network issues, then the next thing was that he went offline after he blocked me. Oooh. What went wrong?
I quickly rushed into my brother's dm to complain, and then he talked into my head and queried me for not reading the group chats. The admins and other buyers have been sending warnings and notifications not to fall into his trap, but I ignored them all and became a victim.
Like seriously I nearly cried blood that day. My hard-earned money is in the hands of a scammer. That became my first experience being scammed and it has been the last since then.
I have always tried to have enough patience when trading and also follow instructions well. This has made my other trading experience so swift. Unless there are times when the trader would decide to play tricky and cunning games on me, then I might just play along till the end.
This is my response to the HIVE LEARNERS weekly prompt in hive learners community for the Week 150 Edition 1 and the topic to be discussed is JUST ANOTHER TRADER
I've even decided to run away from crypto completely 😂.
Do you know one funny thing, I have never traded crypto in my life. All those exchanges I did was with people I know. I don't want to tell stories that touch.
The crypto world is very messy if you ask me. Any small thing and you’re being duped.😂
I thank God you didn’t cry. But look at you now. You have more money now.
