The World Of Music 🎶

in Hive Learners18 hours ago

I was once a music lover, or should I call it a music addict. I truly love listening to music so much. But one thing about my love for music is that I am always addicted to listening to good music—music with morals and inspiration. Once I listen to music for the first time and realize there is nothing connecting me with the song, I delete it with immediate effect.

When I downloaded music on my mini phone, which we used then, it wasn’t even downloading at first. You could only send and receive them through Bluetooth to your memory card. So that's just the way it was back then before some websites and phones started having the download option available.

Some people say music is life. And I can't say otherwise. Because to change the world, one of the fastest tools to change it for good or for bad is music. So indirectly we can say that musicians and artists are one reason why we have the kind of world we have today.

There were times when I got so much more interested in listening to old-school music than listening to recent trends in music. The upcoming artist really has a lot to learn when it comes to music. Though they gained more fans, fame, and audience compared to the artists of the past. But their songs are nothing compared to them.

There are some artists I like among the old-school singers in Nigeria. One is gone now. And I think if he were to be alive by now maybe we won't be having a corrupt country like we have today. Fela Kuti is a musician and political activist. He is more into afro beats and he is ready to sing against any bad and corrupt politicians and government.

This might be a part of the reason why he got his demise but his songs live on rent-free in the hearts of many. I also love listening to songs by Olamide. He is truly a legendary artist who has paved his way in the hearts of many. Though his music is not as much and interesting as the ones he sang in the past. But the music he has released makes a lot of sense.

Another music I listen to is that from Brymo. He is just like an underrated artist. Brymo doesn’t just sing to catch attention but he sings to penetrate the heart. I keep listening to one of his songs time without number. The song gives me some hope especially when I am so down.

Artists and musicians of today have a long way to go. There are a lot of gaps to be filled when it comes to the content of their music compared to that of the past. And I feel one of the ways to bridge this gap is for musicians nowadays not to just sing for fame alone. But they should sing to touch the hearts of many. They should sing to pass a reasonable message across to their listeners. Hopefully, the next generation of musicians won’t even be worse than the present generation.

The problem with our musicians nowadays is the only want the money and the fame. They can go any length and sing any kind of junk just to get what they want. I wonder where they learnt that from because their predecessors weren't so.

I am so careful about the kind of songs. I listen to nowadays. In fact a few artists I listen to, if it's not them, I don't want ..

All the artists who sing meaningful songs are out of the system. It’s just the noise makers making the money these days.

People love the madness as it keeps them hyped up I guess. 😂 but not me.

there is a huge difference between the old and new music.
