I Knew Less About Check Up

in Hive Learnerslast month

One must always carry out a check-up at least once or twice, either a month or two months or so. I have seen so many young adults and the old who always rush to the clinic or hospital for check-ups. It is something mandatory for us, as the more time runs, the older we become. We eat every day and drink every day. So, no one knows what he or she has eaten or drunk. So, in this regard, we must deem it fit to go for a check-up as this would help keep the body alert to any form of sickness.

We also work on finding daily bread. We move from one place to the other; likewise, we work in the sun and rain. Generally, we get sick and just take little drugs to cure the sickness. There are rainy days ahead, and this is why it would be necessary to go for a check-up.

To be sincere, I don't think I have gone for a check-up before. My husband once told me that he had never, for once, gone to the hospital. He said anytime he's sick, he does take either paracetamol or feverish drugs, and that would be enough to tackle his sickness. One day, his sickness rose beyond my imagination. He had been working day in, and day out, including Saturdays when he was supposed to relax. All these have been told in his health, but then he care less as he had this mindset that nothing would happen to him. So, on this fateful day, he fell ill, and it was so serious. I was afraid and decided to call his friend to take him to the hospital. At some point, he agreed to it, as he had no choice at that moment. We got to the hospital, and he was treated. He stayed for three days before coming back home. It was not easy, as this alone had sent some messages to him that the body needs relaxation. Working all day and throughout the day or round the clock can cause sickness.

As for me, I have not visited the hospital for a check-up. The only time I visited was when I was pregnant with my daughter. It was not serious anyway, but it was a must to register with the hospital. Subsequently, my other children were born in the redeemed clinic. Despite the intense circumstances of the way I gave birth to my kids, I never once visited the hospital. I was about to be referred to the general hospital when I gave birth to my last child, but God made it happen that I gave birth finally but in a hard way.

Visiting the clinic or hospital for a medical check-up is better, as this can keep one abreast of any form of sickness trying to emerge in one's body. Visiting the clinic for a checkup can bring about good health care and also a balance of the body system. Whenever you are weak or have pain somewhere in your body, the first thing to do on normal ground is to visit the clinic for a medical check-up. The doctors know how to tackle such issues.

“Had I known,” was what we were saying when my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. I wished she was going for a check-up; it would have aggravated to the extent it was. We did not know on time that what she had was cancer. It had taken over the whole of the breast before we observed. After taking her to the hospital, the doctor said it was too late. We were waiting for my mum's death after that day. We still tried to get her some drugs, but then those drugs were doing her nothing, instead increasing the pain, I guess.

So, I will advise everyone to go for check-ups. I don't like going, but all thanks to this topic that gave me an eye-opener. I will try as much as possible to be going to medical checkups.

You are right. We shouldn't wait an inch before going for check up as it will help us to know our health status.
