Listening to music can make me feel cool and calm.
Years ago, I loved listening to Christian songs most, especially the one by Don Moen. His songs give me the best joy ever. Anytime I'm playing his songs, I feel carried away by the thought of being closer to God. I'm close to God even up to this moment.
When I got married, my husband happened to also love God so much. He does not joke with his service to God. He loves just one particular album but not a Christian song. Not only that, but he also loves playing Christian songs anyway.
Likewise, he has this feeling of no one disturbing him anytime he's listening to this particular album. His mood would be so lovely. This had made me get a scope from his mood while listening to this album. He has always remained focused, and to my surprise, anything I ask from him, he gives.
So, this had made me derive a special idea of collecting what I needed at that particular time or moment. One day I was in need of some money. I told him, but he was not listening to me. I had asked, but he somehow said he was not having the money even though it was in his account. I was listening to a song the next day, and he came in. Immediately I saw him, and I decided to put his favourite album. He sat quietly and started singing to the song that was being played. I observed his mood at that moment and asked for that same money from him. To my surprise, he made the transfer without wasting any time. I was shocked. I thanked my star for getting the antidote for collecting money from him, although he's not the stingy type.
Now, back to business:
My husband has made me fall for his kind of song, which I was unable to run away from. The album he loves listening to and the one he loves so much is “Lucky Dube." He had made me fall for this album, most especially the one titled “It's Not Easy." I can play it day in and day out without getting tired of it. Most songs are tiring when played, but this one is a song I can play at any time, even when I'm sleeping.
Playing this song can make me remember so many things in life. It moved me higher to the highest height. The only time I love listening to this song is when I'm with my husband.
There was a day we were traveling to my hometown with my kids, and the driver happened to play the song “It's Not Easy." After listening, I remembered my husband, and immediately, I picked up my phone and gave my husband a call. “I'm missing you here, dear." This was my statement, and I aborted the call. He called me back and said, “I can hear the music being played from the background. That music gave you morals to miss me, right?” He asked.
So, this song can move me to the highest level.
Thanks for stopping by.
Music is nourishing when you listen to the one that speaks directly to you.
Dube is one of such musicians whose lyrical prowess goes beyond this generation. He picks the subject of his song carefully and deliver on it.
I wish there will be another lyrical genius like him as this generation are missing out the real essence of music.
I just love his songs so much.
My dad trained us with reggae music, it was the only music we listened to in our house those days.
