There came a time when I was struggling with my husband to make ends meet. It was so tough and the road was just as narrow and rough as something else. We had tried our best to make things happen, but all our efforts were a total failure.
After few months, my husband decided to take a loan in his place of work as we just got married with a child. My child suffered a lot, but then she just had to just with the hard times. I was very sure that the hard and tough times would wear away one day.
So, he took a loan of about #240, 000 just for me to try the business of my choice. I was so good at any forms of business that came my way as I had tried it before and did not fail when I was still in my parents' house. He was initially suggesting my teaching in a school, but I objected that statement as teaching was not for someone like me.
I took the money and the two of us started searching for the best position to set up the business. We later saw a place and rented the land for #1500 monthly, but to pay for a year. Invariably, we paid the sum of #18000. We saw a container which someone wanted to sell for #120,000 while the new one was to be made for #200,000. My husband went for the #120,000 just to save money.
We called a bricklayer who mounted the container and before then we bought about 40 pieces of blocks and three bags of cement. We also bought used zinc and new planks. With my calculations, the money was running towards #190,000. I later bought a table and chairs, which made the money to fall to around #200,000. I was left with just #40,000. I was about to get frustrated, but my husband said to me that I can start with that amount. It was not easy, but after hearing his words, I took up the courage to start my business as I knew it would take a long way to meet to my target.
I went straight to one of the parents of my husband's students, who my husband knew clearly. I told her my problem and asked her to sell a bag of rice and a quarter bag of beans on credit. I also bought some other items and paid, since I was having little money with me. I walked again to another of his student's parents who was selling snacks (biscuits and sweets). I explained to her, and she gave me what I needed.

The determination I took made me to grow exceedingly and after three months, my eyes could not believe the changes I had made in my shop. I worked so hard to put everything in place, and now I'm happy to have a large shop after starting in a small level.
So many people would have dropped along the line, but hard work pays, and I bet you, if not for my husband, things wouldn't have gone so well, but with my effort as well, I made it possible.
I knew my shop was going to expand with the way I was working hard, and to God be the glory, everything went so well and go in the way I had envisaged it.
I'm sorry I was unable to take a picture of my shop as it's dark here, and my phone camera is not as good as before.
