My Thoughts On The New Developments In The South China and Philippines Sea

in Hive Learners12 days ago (edited)

Good evening and Hello everyone. Today I thought I would talk about a little geopolitics. If I am not wrong, there are people here who are from Southeast Asia. Such as China, Korea, Taiwan or somewhere around those places. And these people are more aware than the others that there is a growing conflict between the USA and China regarding Taiwan. Although it is international news and anyone who has a little knowledge about world politics knows about it. Now why am I bringing this up again? While the whole news is at least a year old, that tensions are arising between the two countries. I bring this forth again because there have been new developments in the Pacific theater.

According to satellite images, the USA has been working on repurposing the world war II era air bases in the island countries of the Pacific ocean. Previously, USA had few but robust airbuses in the second island chain from Japan to Australia which served as a front line in the Pacific for the USA. These bases will also help the USA to keep China under wraps and in the crosshairs. Meanwhile China has been developing long-range and medium-range missiles that have tremendous firepower, and is expected to be able to destroy big US air bases using just a couple of missiles. Specifically the df-17 and df26. I believe this is why the USA is scrambling to disperse their Airways into smaller bases across the islands in the Pacific, so that these Chinese missiles can't do much damage, As it will need to hit many small targets instead of one big target. Also, by dispersing these assets within many bases, the USA can cover a bigger part of the ocean and China will have a hard time to dismantle all the fighters that the US has in those places. From what I have seen, I think the USA will use Guam as a forward deployment zone, and we'll use the other small world war II era bases across the 1st and 2nd Island chain to spread their assets so that China can have a tough time neutralizing the US setup.

If what I think is true, then the USA will need a lot more bases to spread all these assets. And most of those world war II era bases are now under different sovereign countries. And the USA doesn't have a very good relationship with most of them. So before it becomes a logistics problem for the Pentagon, it is a political problem for the White House to get hands on those places to repurpose them in the first place. But I sincerely hope that this war does not take place, As it will disrupt the world in more ways than one, and also the very lives of the people living in Taiwan and China and the USA.
