Hello everyone, How much are you worried about renewable energy? Because as things stand now, things aren't picking up pace yet. And add the new Trump administration doubling down on fossil fuel if you may. Donald Trump was promising that the United States will become energy independent and it will ramp up production for fossil fuel in its effort to reach that goal. So it looks like we're quite far off from the road of complete carbon neutralization. But there is another side to all this as well. If you look across the pond, China is actually doing something that many expected the “world leader” countries to do. That is doing substantial development in terms of renewable energy. To start, China is the producer of More than 80% of all solar panels across the world. So that is a huge Monopoly in one of the key elements of renewable energy. Along with that, they have upgraded the battery technology by so much that they're also about to create a monopoly in that market as well. Better technology such as gallium nitride and silicon carbon are revolutionizing how we treat mobile devices.
But they aren't the spotless, good guys here. China is expected to have peaked their carbon emissions. A key element in favor of it was coal. While most industries use natural gas or LNG or other types of fossil fuel, China mostly uses coal. And coal is the biggest emitter of carbon in the atmosphere. But now due to the housing sector crashing, and the economy slowing down, China's carbon emissions has actually gone down. While they in the renewable sector continue to get government subsidies, they continue to produce more and more new technologies to increase the efficiency of renewable energy accumulation. So from the outside, it looks like China has decreased its carbon footprint and increased its quest for better renewable energy. Which is actually not true, but everything has somehow lined up perfectly for them. And they can sell a future with this. With the Chinese government planning about carbon neutrality by 2060, China or actually went ahead in this field.
What remains to be seen is, what will China do to revamp its slowed down economy. Will it actually ramp up the traditional fossil fuel energy to power its economy? Or will it actually have enough renewables on hand that it won't need the fossil fuel to start the new chapter of their economic boom. That combined with the USA's increased fossil fuel dependency, Will dictate where the planet is headed in the near future.
