The Majorana 1

Good evening everyone. In a world of rapid technological improvement in which we live, there are those that just breathe away past the other things. And those would be The super computer inventions. They still sound like science fiction but they still exist. A few months ago, Google launched a quantum computing chip named Willow. It was distant to be an unimaginable times faster than the traditional computer processors that we have on the market. And that was inevitable to be invented. Because the world has been chasing quantum computers for many years now. While quantum compute power is revolutionary in the human world, it also poses a threat of obsoleting every security parameter in the world. I've already talked about that scenario where these quantum computers can break through the hardest of encryptions in a matter of seconds, which traditional computers of our time will take millions of years to complete. But that is all normal stuff. But what Microsoft did a few days ago, Is completely science fiction, at least to me.

I'm talking about Majorana 1. Because Microsoft is claiming that they have made an entirely new state of matter. As we already had solid liquid air and plasma, now we have a fifth state that is a topological supercomputer. Oh I really hope that Microsoft isn't making things up at this point because this is a high claim. And if, a big if, it is true, then this topological super computer is a huge breakthrough. Normal computers are measured in bits like how many bits a computer can calculate. But super computers are measured in qubits. So this new matter can accelerate the computational power of the Majorana 1 by a huge margin. And it could eventually scale up to millions of qubits. And that is a huge breakthrough to get started with the era of quantum computers. This chip is based on the Majorana Fermion which is a weird particle that exists along with its antiparticle. And they coexist somehow. And this particle coexisting with its antiparticle makes it resistant to decoherence. And that in turn helps the quantum computers to minimize its amount of errors.

Now these quantum computing ships from Microsoft or Google aren't of much use in today's world. They are practically useless. According to today's technology. There is no place where it can be used at this very instant nor there is any hardware that is on par with these. But these chips are a stark reminder that the future is at hand. And the world will soon move on to an entirely different dimension just because of these quantum computers. And this also goes out as a fair warning to all the cyber security Bros out there to up their game in terms of encryption and security because these computers? They wouldn't take a hiccup before cracking all your encryptions like it's some child's play.
