The Private Sector Is Harsh Capitalism

in Hive Learners6 hours ago

Hello everyone and good evening. I hope all is well. I've been out for a couple days. But after seeing today's new contest announcement, I thought I might be able to write something regarding this. Because the actual situation in my country between the private and the public sector in all forms of businesses, there is quite a difference on many aspects. Sometimes there's the situation of efficiency. Sometimes there is the cost. And sometimes there's basic competence. Anyway, I want to share about The government owned versus private owned schools and education and Healthcare and logistics because I have faced all of them in all shapes and forms. And yeah they all have their quirks.

So if I get to the schools, the teacher is recruited by the government through a public exam. The fees in those schools and colleges paid by the student are quite loved and by law I mean very low even by our nation's economic standards. And in terms of the public universities, only the best around the country get to study in those because the exams are very hard to crack because of the huge amount of competition by almost every aspiring student each year. And so obviously they produce some of the brightest minds in the country. But the reality is there is not enough room for everyone to attend in these universities. So this is what the privately only universities step in. But the biggest difference between the public universities and the private ones is the private ones are way way more expensive like magnitudes more. And yes, there are some universities that provide on par or better education than those public universities, but at the same time they cost a fortune. So if you are not someone that bright and they don't have a lot of money, then I guess you're in a pickle.

Then if I talk about healthcare, The scenario is a bit different. Deep government owned hospitals are widely accessible to the patients across the country. Whoever wants it. They come at a minimal cost so that everyone can get health care. But the thing is the equipment and the doctors and the logistics in those hospitals are questionable. There have been too many incidents where people can't get proper treatment because maybe some equipment is not available or broken down, or there isn't a doctor available, or simply the staff not cooperating properly. Well the privately owned hospitals have the state of the art equipment and the best doctors. The doctors I basically attracted because of the higher pay. And the logistics are actually better. But here is the kicker. This is also very expensive. Many people can simply get their treatment done not because of the unavailability of doctors or equipment or staff rather simply money.

And the other government and private institutions have their own perks. Most government institutions are cheap and sometimes efficient. But the private ones are always expensive and even though they provide a better service, sometimes you just can't get it because of the money. And the people of my country don't have a lot of money. So basically the private is for the rich people and the government is for the poor ones.

It's really a relative situation although in my country currently, there is no difference between both sectors as both are unnecessarily pricey and under performing.
