We all know crimes are crimes and are seen as evil in the eyes of the law and in the eyes of people in the society as well
Laws were made and put in place initially for the purpose of curbing these crimes and to stop them from being carried out by individuals
The punishment given to law breakers and criminals are meant to stop or instill fear in citizens so they won’t commit such criminal acts
Crimes such as murder, rape, robbery, fraud and many other crimes are the said crimes these punishments are put in place for.
For me oooo, I feel some crimes can be overlooked if they were done in self defense.
If a young girl or a mature lasy was being raped and in the process of defending herself hit the perpetrators which led to their deaths, I don’t belive its right to convict the victim in these scenario.
I am currently watching an anime called solo leveling where the main character “Sung Jinwoo” who ought to have died in an expedition he went for(or more like he actually died in the expedition) miraculously survived through what seems like a game setting and when he came back his hand and leg he had lost was brought back as well.
There is an episode in the anime though where he went for another expedition with another crew and the crew members sought to sacrifice him and another member to the monster in the cave, but they didn’t know he had gotten stronger so he beat the monster.
When the rest of the crew saw this they decided to end him alone since he was supposedly weaker than the second one they left him in the cave with, while this was going on, the game gave him and option to eather take out the bad guys trying to kill him or he looses his life so he did what he had to.
In this situation as well, I also don’t feel bad for the ones he killed cause they also wanted to kill him at first 🤷🏽♀️. So I feel if it’s a case of self defence then you shouldn’t really be punished for protecting your self but if there is no justification or justifiable reason for your actions then you should be dealt with according to the law and if the offender or criminal doesn’t feel remorseful then he or she shouldn’t even be given an option or opportunity to repent
