The advantages of a phone is known by all as well as the disadvantages which cannot be overemphasized. privileges can be misused by adults talk less of children.
I teach in a secondary school of ages eleven and sixteen and I know the things that students do with phones even though there are rules that forbid them from bringing phones to school.
This could be a form of distraction for the students. Imagine a teacher teaching in the classroom and students are using their phones. Some could be on TikTok, some others could be on Instagram, some may be on Facebook and some may be on Snapchat. How would they understand or follow the teacher as he teaches?
If students in this level are allowed to use phones in classroom even while writing a test, then what is the credibility of the test given when the students can just use their phones with the AI feature on it to get answers to the questions given.
Apart from doing all that, what if the students are visiting adult site while in school and showing it to others who do not even have the slightest idea about what they are viewing. These may influence some good ones into the bad habit or lifestyle.
I am not making a mistake when I say that the things on the internet these days are not the things children should be exposed to. I don't think there are any good role models out there any more. What these children see on the internet are the things they would believe is the best for them.
See people getting themselves high on both cheap and expensive drugs and then post all these on the internet just to show that they are the big boys or big girls. You see some almost dancing naked just to show curves or nakedness and then being gifted with a lot of money and you think children will not think that is the easiest way to make money?
You see some showing off wealth gotten from internet fraud and ritual on the social media and you think when children continue to see these things they won't conclude within them that school is a scam and start looking for ways to go into internet fraud?
I strongly stand against allowing children within these age bracket to start using phone without parental control and I'm also against students bringing phones to school because it's the highest form of distraction you can ever imagine.
Children can use phones under the supervision of their parents or with parental controls but I won't subscribe to the idea of them bringing phones to school and use it at any time when they want to.
If children are allowed to use phones in the school and in class rooms while the teacher is teaching and during test, then teaching and learning will never take place. They will pass the test with the use of AI but at the end of the day, they would have nothing to show for attending school because they won't fit into the labour market.

The negative impact is more than the good it has done to many. I won't subcribe to students using phones in school as well.
On many occasions, have we caught students watching adult content in school. IT IS A NO FOR ME!
When the usage is not monitored
Abuse is inevitable.

The use of mobile phones should not be allowed among students because it has been discovered that many of them are easily distracted which contributes to poor academic performance among students
Yes
That is my point exactly
The disadvantages of allowing the usage of smartphones in schools especially for students in secondary and primary schools definitely outweighs the importance.
Yes
That is so true.
