Sometimes, I usually can’t help but wonder what exactly is so different about me. Why it is that I seem to view certain things through a particular lens and as a result come to different opinions. I’ve noticed this happening when it comes to issues of current affairs, games, and even movies. Like, myself an a group of people doing the same thing but seeing all differently.
Now, I know that everyone has their own opinion on stuff, I also know that they all see and experience everything through their own perspective. However, it doesn’t stop it from being shocking when they have different views on matters, but in a way that I didn’t even notice at all.
An easy example I can give you is with movies, I’m sure that this is something that many of us are already used to. It has probably happened to us at one time or the other. But then, have you ever seen a movie that you immensely enjoyed and loved just about everything that had to do with the movie. From the charisma of the actors to the choreography of the fight scenes and the chemistry between the main characters, you just love every single thing.
But then, when you come online, all you’re seeing about the movie are just negative reviews. You see posts complaining about wack stunts, terrible cinematography, and how the actors didn’t see to know their jobs. There will be so many issues, you begin to wonder if it wasn’t the same movie that you watched and enjoyed. Because when watching, you noticed none of all that. Now, that you’re hearing such things, you begin to wonder if you really paid attention when you were watching.
This is one of the reasons why I prefer to watch movies the minute tey get out, because I know that people will come with their reviews and seeing how this is the internet and the algorithm knows the kind of content that I like, I just might end up reading up things that could poison y mind against the movie. So that when I finally watch it, instead of me to relax for a good time, I’ll be like the Movie Police, looking for flaws and errors.
It’s things like this that make me wonder… am I different? Or is everyone else? And when you think about it, it’s not just in movies, it can also be traced to other parts of life. Take for instance, our present government. Despite everything that has happened in my country so far, despite how bad things have gotten and how high the cost is, there are still people who think that the government is the best thing to happen to Nigerians!
When you hear talk like this, you can’t help but wonder if this person is really experiencing the same economic situation as you. Because if they’re going through the same form of hardship that you are, then they shouldn’t be saying all that. But then, it is what it is. People will always choose the lens through which they get to view life, and such will determine how they get to interpret what they see and how they react to it.
In the end, I’ve come to learn that what matters the most is my own opinion. Not what others think. I’ll arrive at my own conclusions and not make decisions based off the conclusion of others. Be it movies, be it real life. That’s what it is now.

I think this is harsh reality we are living to..we are more concerned on what other people are doing or liking rather than minding what makes us happy....we all are different in every aspect, but slowly i understand this and keeps myself occupied with whatever is good for me...and when there much doubt then I do research on the topic to verify.
