I am a huge fan of Korean drama, I watch a lot of them all the time. Although I watch a lot of dramas, not just Korean, I enjoy their own especially because I like their portrayal of power and what it truly entails. I particularly enjoy their revenge dramas, the kind where ordinary citizens have to go against powerful government officials or top members of the society who may have done something terrible to them in the past. They would work hard to bring them down and make sure they pay for what they had done. Usually, these powerful people put out a facade that they use to deceive the general public. Pretending to be saints when in fact they were terrors and people that had no regard for human life. Also, these people were usually a clique of sorts, just a few people who have been working together and helping each other to do their evil deeds and cover-up. Keeping the ignorant public out of the loop. So, most of the time, one of the best ways the heroes try to destroy the powerful people is by changing the masses' view of them. When they let the entire world know who they were for sure, it would be much easier for them to be taken down. And then evidence that had been gathered during the whole time the hero had infiltrated the clique would come in handy and be the final nail in the coffin of the destruction of these people. So basically, what the heroes do is to change the perception of the people so they can see them for who they really are and that is when the beginning of their downfall begins. This has taught me something. Power on its own is nothing. For power to have meaning and make sense, there must be people who will succumb to the power. We are actually the ones that give them the power, if we decide to take it all back, then they would have no power. After all, as we all know a king without a kingdom is just another man on the street. It is said in my country that in the race of life, every man is a king in his own lane. That is how it is for the rest of life, when it comes to just you, then you are calling the shots. You cannot leave the shots you are meant to be calling in your life and decide you want to do it in someone else’s. In the same way, a man is only a king in his home. It is only in your home that you can be the general commanding officer and everyone in it will have to follow it. What am I saying in a nutshell? For us to consider ourselves to be successful or powerful, we would need people who will give it to us. People who will believe in us enough to let us be in control. Because once that belief shakes or is strengthened, the power you have will begin to wane. So, when we find ourselves in a place of authority, we should always remember that we did not put ourselves there. We were put there by people who expect us to do what is right and have their best interests at heart. We must always strive to do good so that it will work in our favor in the end. Just as when bad leaders are elected in a country, the people will vote them out of office once they see that nothing will come to them as well. That is power for you. So whatever it is we are doing, we should always make sure we are doing what we were chosen to do and we are doing it for the betterment of those we are in charge of. That can determine for how long we would be in that power. Borderimage credit: @deimage.

Thank you for sharing this with us.
Power is something that requires a great sense of responsibility. The hardest thing about reality is that sometimes there are those heroes trying to change the situation, but the illusion woven by those powerful is not easy to break, sometimes no one can until the right person arrives.
Yeah... because while the heroes are constantly trying to win, those in power are always trying to stop them. So it can be a constant back and forth that might not end.

I also watch Korean drama but in recent time I don't have time to watch any drama. I really miss it🙂.
I think most of us like such kind of dramas. Maybe we are emotional and that is the reason.
We have seen such kind of things in dramas many times. But in real life hardly able to see such kind of thing.
Actually, that is the tactic politicians use all the time, they try to change the view of the masses by destroying the image of their opponents. And it usually works.
