The weather for the past month has been nothing but wet. It has been raining cats and dogs consistently here in Lagos state, I am beginning to suspect we did something to deserve it. And not just the rain, the cold is something else altogether. But everything we have been experiencing since the rainy season began all paled in comparison with what happened last week. Once every year, during the rainy season, the rain will fall consistently for seven days. Nonstop. It will vary across the days, sometimes it will be heavy and other times, it will be light or even a drizzle, but water will always be dropping from the sky. This past week, it was our turn. The annoying thing about the weather is the way it makes almost everything unbearable. The only thing the rain is good for is staying indoors, anything you might need that will require you to step out of your house, you will suffer for it. First of all, the bad roads. Everywhere will be messed up, and you would have to be searching for places to fix your foot so you do not slip and fall. Every step you take will be calculated and precise, you cannot afford to have them otherwise. You might choose to make use of your umbrella, but for people like me that hate umbrellas, I wear my leather face cap and hoodie, and I am good to go. If you are looking to buy something, there is a high likelihood most shops will not be open. This happens most especially when the rain falls in the morning before people open up for the day. Once the downpour begins, know that many will see it as an excuse to sleep in. So you might be wasting your time and energy shambling about in the rain while the people you are looking for are snuggled up in their houses. It gets really worse when the area you stay in is flood-prone. That means when a little rain falls water fills up everywhere, not to talk about when it falls consistently for seven days. Thankfully, I do not stay in such an area. We only have to deal with puddles of water here and there. And then, when it gets to the extreme is when you have to use public transport to go anywhere at all. When the rain is just threatening to fall, while it is falling and when it is done falling, the cost of transportation will hit the skies. These drivers will call whatever price they feel like and you would have no choice but to pay. The truth is that they do not care if you enter or not because they will definitely see passengers that will pay that price. Well, this would have been an opportunity for me to include power in my list of things that are wrong. But I have to be honest, for the past month, the power holders in my area have been really weird. On a normal day, once the rain is threatening, they interrupt the light. But these days, no matter how heavy the rain is it stays on. As a matter of fact, it is staying on longer than usual. Each day power stays for nothing less than eighteen to twenty hours. It is probably because of the rain and seeing as the dam would be overflowing with water and all, but I really doubt that. This is so unusual, especially in my area. And it is weird. Hehe… can you imagine that I find it weird that our powerholders are actually doing their job? That is to tell you how deep this thing has eaten into our country. Well, I am beginning to get used to this. Although, if there is one thing I have learned from these guys, it is that they can never be trusted or relied upon. After all these, we can be plunged into three months' blackout. It has happened before. That is about all I can say about this weather and how it is in my area. The seven days of rain are over, but the clouds still look dark and pregnant. It did not rain throughout Sunday, but it is raining now as I am making this post. The cold is everywhere, there is no escape. It does not matter how many layers of clothing you put on, it will still get to you. We still have the rest of July before we go for the August break and take a breather. Hopefully, by then, the sun will shine brightly upon us all again before we would return to the wet days in September and beyond. So dear friends, as the rains keep on coming, a lot of people can fall ill due to the weather. Just do your best to protect yourself and your family, it is quite simple when you think of it, as compared to when you have to buy drugs to heal yourself. As it is said, prevention will always be better than cure. Thank you for reading, till we meet in the next post. This post was inspired by the first topic for the week which is Weather. What a great writing. Please how do I make my images to have the clickable feature
Uhm... What do you mean by clickable feature? Is it the image itself or the source links provided?
If it's for the link, then it's just [Name of Artist](link to the image).
If not, you can be a bit more specific so I can answer you better.
Sorry, the source link
Okay... follow the format I gave.😎

Thank you for reading.
I totally agree with you in this, imagine you want to cook and it's raining heavily outside, you won't be able to go out to buy the things you want to use to cook, this can be so frustrating at times.
The only people that won't suffer for it are those who have their cars packed outside.

It is the same thing in Akwa lbom State, it has been raining consistently. I am sick and everyone else is complaining about the same thing. The cold is too much here.
