But then, if people are purposely heading towards Thier own doom, should they still be allowed? People have sold houses, cars and even their children's future just because they want to win a bet. Shouldn't there be a place where the law steps in and says, "no mate, this is where you call it quits."
The law does it with drugs, and to an extent, even alcoholic drinks. I feel something can be done for gambling as well.

I believe that people should have the freedom to choose what to do with their money, I see the solution more in that the betting systems are honest and tell people the probability of winning that they have. With alcohol, the law forces us to say that it is harmful to health and that excessive consumption is bad. It could very well apply to gambling as well, right?
Here in Brazil, unfortunately we had many cases of illegal "bets" where influencers received a version with a higher win rate and motivated people to play and unfortunately they often lost money they didn't have.
That is very bad, in those cases those supposed "influencers" who all they do is deceive people should be regulated.
