I have come across a lot of people who find it hard to take corrections. No matter the gravity of their mistake, no matter what they did or how wrong they were, they will not just accept the fact that there is a more efficient and more correct way to do it. Such people hardly learn, and many times they fail to learn from their mistakes because they usually fail to tell themselves that they are mistaken in the first place. This means, they would most likely spend a long time doing the same thing, and when someone tries to correct them, they will give all the possible reasons why they are right. Imagine s child playing with a kitchen knife, you warn him to stop it because he will hurt himself, but he refuses. You go as far as seizing the knife and keeping it on a high shelf, but the moment you turn your back he stacks some chairs together, climbs, and takes the knife. And then, when he continues playing with it, he cuts himself by mistake. Then, he will realize why you told him to stop playing with the knife. Sadly, that is how many people are today. They just refuse to take corrections, instead they would rather believe they are living their best life and you are against them doing so. It doesn’t matter if you have gone through a similar situation before and you don’t want them to make the same mistakes you did, it doesn’t matter if you point out different instances where they could most likely go wrong. They will ignore you anyway. As it is, for you as a person to be willing to accept corrections, you need to be willing to accept the fact that you are wrong. You need to admit that you don’t know everything and you made a mistake. For some reason, however, this very fact is something that is hard for so many people. I don’t know if they feel that admitting they are wrong robs them of some kind of privileges, or if it makes them look like less of what they are. Because whether you like it or not, you don’t know what you don’t know, and if you insist on refusing correction, you will keep on being ignorant and making the same mistake. As we all know, life is a series of tests. And each test has one thing or the other to teach us, we have to learn if we are going to grow. But then, many times, it could turn out that over the years the things we have learned are no longer as valid as they used to be, meaning we would have to unlearn them and learn the ones that are now in vogue. We need to try and be more flexible, one of the greatest flaws that can destroy a person is being too rigid. Thinking that everything will remain the same forever and refusing to conform to change. But nature is a force that can never be stopped, and if you refuse to flow with the tide, you will be left behind. Simple. I remember in the early 2000s, some churches banned gadgets like televisions and radios in the homes of their members, citing them as a pathway through which immorality enters into the home and corrupts the family. But then, it turned out that there were so many ways immorality could enter without the TV or radio. And now, no one believes in all that again. At least every family owns a TV, and the level of immorality on it now is more than double what it was back then. Now, it is possible to stay without TV. We have smartphones that just about do everything for us. But back then, all we had was TV, radio, and newspapers. It was hard to be updated about events happening around you if you didn’t have these things. You will always be getting the news late, and maybe by then, it would be far gone. So, my dear friends, what am I trying to point out here? We need to learn how to be flexible, and how to flow with the times. When we have to learn something new, we learn it. And when it’s time to take corrections, we take it as well. Trying to stick to what we know and choosing not to give progress a chance will never go well for us. Right now, the world is evolving at an alarming rate. You have to be ready to jump on the fast-moving bus or you will be left in the dust. And as evolution comes, we find more ways to live our lives, ways that will most likely make ours easier to live. But then, it is up to us to choose to accept it. Don’t be so rigid, try dae accept correction!

This is a wise word. Honestly.
It is hard for people to take correction these days. I have learnt about this in the past few years.. I am grateful.
It easy to make excuses and put the blame on someone or something else just because you can’t admit that you were wrong
Indeed, when you are open to taking corrections, it will be easier for you to learn. It is actually very simple.
Thank you for reading.
Nice said bro, it's not an easy to for people to take corrections this days especially when they believe they are doing the right thing in their own eyes. Untile when they have gone wrong, then they realize what they have missed
Right, once you have that belief you are doing the right thing. Taking corrections will come hard.
Thank you for reading.
Yeah you are right tho, but that isn't suppose to be so..
I have noticed it many times. Even though they know that the mistake is done by them and they realize it but whenever someone wanna correct themselves they resist it and give some statement to defend and prove that they were right.
