If you were to go through my phoneās gallery, youād be surprised at the number of pictures of the sky that you would find. For many of you that are already familiar with my pictures, you most likely know that I have a thing for showing the sky as best as I can in most of my pictures and I tend to make it the most exaggerated feature to the best that I can.
Is there a reason for this? I donāt think thereās any particular one. It was when I started pictures for my blog posts that I realized just how much I preferred taking pictures of the sky. I love it with dark clouds, I love it when itās sunny, and I love it lurking behind buildingsā¦ however it is, I just enjoy taking pictures of the sky.
Does this mean I donāt take other pictures? Nah! I also seem to have a thing for clean and good roads, especially one with lots of trees. Donāt blame me, thereās something different about taking pictures of the road and trees that makes it look so much better than they do in real life. So, I take a lot of those.
I would have also taken pictures of buildings, but most of the time, there are always people in front or around them. And I prefer not to take pictures of humans, at the very least Iād prefer it if their face is not captured so they just blend in with the scenery instead of standing out.
Most of my coursemates already know me very well by now, and theyāre used to it. We could be walking to or from lecture halls and Iāll suddenly get the urge to take pictures. Iāll ask one of them to hold my book while I begin to take shots. Sometimes, Iāll stand in the middle of the road so I can capture the asphalt, other times Iāll point my phoneās camera at the sky as if Iām searching for the castle I built there. There are even times Iāll almost lie down on the ground because I want to capture the grass.
Whewā¦ the thing we do for content! And the funny thing is, I actually enjoy doing this. At the beginning of this year when I set a goal to only use original images, I just wanted to do it so I could give my posts a personal feel. So that when you go through them, you donāt just read my words, you also feel my pictures. However, I didnāt know I would enjoy doing this. When Iām taking pictures, it seems like Iām in a totally different world and nothing can touch me. The only other time I get that feeling is when Iām writing.
I know Iām an armature, and Iām not even planning on going professional or anything. You wonāt see me taking a course to get better. Iāll just keep learning as I take more and more pictures. This is something Iām doing now as a hobby and Iām not going to let the hunger for money taint it for me.
So, should you be expecting more pictures from me? You can bet it! Iāll keep churning out pictures when I can and hopefully with time, Iāll be inspired by more than just the sky, the road, and the trees. Iām just a newbie in this field, and the road is very long!
One of the highlights of this entire thing for me is when some people refuse to believe that they know some of the places in my pictures. Some pictures I took in my school, I showed it to my coursemate once and he didnāt believe that it was our school indeed. He thought it was just some fancy rich kid estate. Heheā¦ moments like this make me appreciate this even more.
Anywayā¦ like I said, thereās still a long way for me to go. And with time, Iāll be able to take pictures of anything I want. Even pictures of the clouds from close range, without the pesky inconvenience of the confines of a plane. Donāt ask me how yet, miracles happen! But all in all, I look forward to an enjoyable future in this photography industry Iāve sneaked into.

When I got my phone new
I would find myself taking pictures of the sky, roads, trees basically because I found lot of the here on hive.
When you freeze that particular moment in a very unique position.......
U gerrit??
Yeah... I get it.
It's a unique feeling.
Your pictures are on point and i also really enjoyed visiting your post
Thank you... I'm glad of this.
You are warmly welcome
The pictures are clean
I'd also be doing some 'original photos only' content soon. I just want to document stuff.
The picture with the mast/high-tension(hope that's what it is) is my favourite from the numbers.
It's just a mast.
I'm glad you like it. I look forward to your pictures as well!
Nice photos - just keep going - you clearly making photos like I do. I make lots of photos with my iPhone and like you, I have never taken a course. Being an amateur can have it advantages as well. Continue to enjoy.
It has it's advantages indeed because I'm really free to do what I want and I don't have to worry about things like standards and whatnot.
I guess you love the sky so much and there is no how you will look at the sky everyday that you won't feel blessed.
I also have so many sky pictures on my phone
Indeed... it's not possible!š
I do this a lot especially last year. I was taking pictures of building, trees for fun. In fact, I like taking pictures that doesn't contain humans.
I found taking pictures relieving and I got to appreciate my environment the more.
Yeah... I find them relieving and when they come out greatly in the end, it gives me great joy!!
I can relate. The joy of photographing is to have beautiful pictures at the end.
This is beautiful bro, I have lots of shots and I better start using them just like you are doing.
Photography is sweet, no one is born with the ability to capture awesome images but we can improve with it when we are committed.
Thanks for the inspiration sire, happy weekend to you.
Indeed... commitment is important.
Now, I just do it whenever I want. And the world has evolved to the point where you can take pictures of anything and no one will even bat an eyelid at you.
Really sweet!
I noticed your pictures and I can say they are great and beautiful. You don't have to be a professional to start taking nice pictures.
I also love taking pictures of the sky and plants but school activities has almost made me to forget what I use to love doing.
I'd love to see more of your pictures boss.
Even myself... school activities almost made me stop. I don't take out time to do it, I just take them when I can. On my way to or from school, on my way to or from church... once the inspiration strikes me, I simply take out my phone and click away.
It's so much easier that way.
When you have a smart phone, with a smart camera, you will fine joy taking shots any where you fine yourself. I like your shots, they are attractive. You must be a good photographer.
I try my best. I also hope to get better.
Hehe. You also find most of the picture in my gallery of sky and clouds. I think it's a very common thing for me and in case of taking sky photographs there exist no obstacles. Maybe that's the reason we take sky photographs too much.
And with the sky and buildings, you don't have to worry if anyone looks good or sexy enough. You just have to worry about the picture itself being good enough.
Yeah... I enjoy it, and for now that will have to be enough reason for me.š
