i really didn't get to know the full story because he dropped the message in a group chat and i just happened to be around when the discussion was going on but after that day, i never bothered to know what happened .. I guess he should be fine or already find a solution to it...
you are right about stressing the eyes when it is too dim, so the solution is to adjust to a level that will suit our eyes, one that won't stress it or blind it

Sometimes, it comes to my mind what if I lose my vision. It gives me scary sensation
me too, one of the thing that scares me the most is losing my eyes, cos that will have a very bad effect on me, what is life without eyes
