Sometime last year, the national grid kept collapsing which made the network so bad, that Nigerians could not connect to the internet, It usually lasted for a few hours and sometimes it took days but the good thing was that it is still working just very slow which affected me in a bad day and I could only hope they get the problem fixed as fast as possible.
During the period of bad network, so many thoughts were running through my mind and I imagined if the government banned its citizens from accessing the internet, what would be my next step... I never plan on leaving Nigeria because I like it here but such a thing happening is a good reason to say Goodbye to the country because I can not survive in a country without internet... There are many things at stake and it will affect all Nigerians reading this post too because none of us would be able to access the hive blockchain anymore, we won't be able to connect with our friends, connect to sites, or check our wallet because of the lack of internet, so this is something that should never happen.
Banning the internet is like enslaving the citizens because those who choose to remain in the country would have to go back to their 9 to 5 jobs, and just like our forefathers unaware of things happening in other countries, we would lack knowledge and pieces of information.

Back then, our forefathers only knew what was going on in their village and towns around them, there is no way to know what is going on in other states talkless of a country, indeed, one can not miss what he never had so they are fine with such a life but for us that have lived a life with the internet, it will be difficult to stay without it.
The Internet is a fundamental human right and there should be nothing like stopping one from accessing it, it is already happening in some countries during protests, the government would shut down the Internet to prevent news from getting out because the fastest way to get news of what is happening all over the world now is through the internet and it circulates so fast.
The only group of people I feel their right to the internet should be restricted are the children, there are a lot of bad things circulating on the internet and they can easily access it if they have access to the internet, Some are already exposed to the site they are not supposed to check and it affected them because they put what they see and learn into practice and this could be spread to their friends who have no access to internet...

Hmmmm! I don't think any government can make a law to stop it because they are also benefited.
When there was a national grid last year, government was also affected.
If government pass a law to stop citizens, I will be first person to trekk out of this country and never come back.
well there are news that they have tried to stop it, see the case of twitter ban that happened in Nigeria, I also heard a case that happened in Bangladesh that they were restricted, so it happens...
Yea if it happens in nigeria, no point in staying.. we move to a country that support internet.

Our lifestyle adapted with internet and all of a sudden banning it will create imbalance and it will be hard for us to think about life. I also think I would love to leave country if internet will ban in my country.
we won't be able to cope with a life without internet, it is like telling people to stay without food and water.
My boss even children of nowadays make use of the internet, but the truth is it's inappropriate, unless there is a very strict measures on ground for censoring.
