I'm not even a social media person. I mean, you can only find me on WhatsApp and once in a long while on Facebook or any of the others, but I shake my head in diagust and say that the entire media space is in dishevel. People are going crazy.
My friend showed me this video of a man and woman, both of whom we assume are a couple running about where I think is their cimpound. The annoying thing about that video was the lady wearing just panties and singlets(with nothing like a bra underneath to hold her breasts). Away from the fact that he underwear was very disgusting and looked filthy, the video was a disgusting sight. The catch for the video, i think, was the lady's dancing breasts, and did it do the work by getting the traffic they needed? Of course, yes. There were thousands of reactions ranging from love, like, haha, and anger. And oh, the comment section was chaotic. Some cruise and lots of bashing and well, that's the aim, yeah? Yeah! It's very embarrassing.
I've come across many videos that made me cringe. I feel like I could puke from just the images/videos playing in my head, and I could share the details to some but for the fact that they could be a trigger to some persons.
I may not have been using the online space for long and may not be active, but I know that these disgusting contents weren't always there. At least not as much as is now. And I know it doesn't end with these videos as there are tons of other contents that are untrue and terrible, which are saturating the media space.
Everyone wants a share of the digital money. The quick, easy money. Ever since monetization of pages and accounts people would go as far as sharing very private information, cooking up untrue stories, engaging in unnecessary fights and call outs and just putting out whatever content whether it was true or not or whether it would be detrimental to another person or not, just so they could gain traffic and earn from it.
Monetization is a good thing. I mean, there are tons of great contents out there getting the publicity they need. I've had to learn a number of things from watching people's contents and from reading. People tend to share more valuable stuff cause there's also some monetary gain in it for them, which I like for them.
But then, it seems that the negatives are beginning (even already) outnumbered the Positives. I have an eye for spotting stupid posts and never clicking on them, but every time I go by, I'd already see that they have so many engagements. While we all come here and complain about these nuisances on social media, I'm concerned about what people are giving them the publicity. I feel like if we already can tell the content is trash, why not ignore totally rather than drop our angry reactions and leave comments to show how appalled we are, which by the way is all the engagement these people need to keep on with the foolishness.
I really don't know, but I wish that more and more contents got cut off from monetization by virtue of the nuisance they portray. That way, we all get to see more of the good stuff that's out there.
Thanks for gracing this post.
Greetings!
Thank you.
Monetization does have its downsides... but what do you think can be done to strike a better balance? #SocialMedia
That's right, there is not always a link between monetisation and quality. Unfortunately there is a lot of material on the web that simply should not have existed. Regards @cheeamaka
I'm glad you get that. I wish stricter laws and implementations were made to curb these excesses.
Yeah, I was also shocked to find out that some creators would team up behind the scenes to fight in the eyes of the public all for the views. Really shocking! But I guess it's what majority of the public enjoy and they know that already.
If only these contents would pass a moderation check for authenticity before they can be posted. And that is almost impossible lol. Literally everyone wants a share of the digital money
If only!
If we, the audience, complain about the absurdity of the entire thing, but we still make excuses for those creators.
The approach some people use for gaining traffic on their contents is just so bad, why do always have to show every viewers your body?
Like!! It creeps me out.
There are tons of content ideas, but why strip yourself of your dignity? People can be weird.
The fact that's it is now looking normal is more crazy
Thank you
It's been really crazy ever since monetization was approved especially in my dear country. What I hate the most is their dirty planned pranks.
Those pranks are very annoying. Even the ones done in public places to random people without care for their safety or if they have underlying health issues(like high blood pressure). It's annoyingggg
This is absolutely true. At present, everyone wants to earn money from social media platforms without having to work hard. But this does not happen here. People who try to earn money quickly end up losing money. Here too, if you want to earn money from any platform, you will have to put in both time and effort.
