There are thousands of people out there facing toxic relationships. It is not easy for them to stand their ground or move out of the relationship. One thing about people facing these in the relationship is they always believe that one day the person maltreating them will turn a new leaf. I will always tell people I see no reason why you should remain in a toxic relationship. One thing about such a relationship is it will frustrate you emotionally and physically.
I have been a victim of a toxic relationship. Believe me, it was not easy for me to come out of the relationship. Even when my friends were giving me reasons why I should walk away from the relationship, I always told them that he would change. I was really blinded by his love because, as of then, I loved and cherished him so much. I know many people will ask why I didn't move out; it was not easy for me.
That is why whenever I see someone in a toxic relationship, I don't really judge them because I know what they are passing through is not easy to let go of that person as far as it is not easy to let that person go. You should always think of your mental health seriously; I was losing it when I was in that relationship.
Whenever I go out with my friends, they will see bruises on my body, and each time they ask me, I will tell them it was an accident. One day my friends found out that I had been lying to them about the bruises they always see on my body. They promised to help me fight the man according to law, but I pleaded with my friends not to take any actions, that I seriously love the guy. My friends were shocked because they didn't believe that I would cover up for someone who had been beating me up.
One faithful morning, I wake up, and I see myself in the hospital bed. I was so shocked and surprised to see myself in the hospital. I ask my friends what happened; why was I in the hospital? They narrated the story of how I passed out when my so-called lover was beating. My friends were like, Is it when I die that I will live the relationship? That was how I felt about the relationship.
If I must say, anyone who loves can never raise their hands on your body. If you find out that the relationship is becoming toxic, please walk away from the relationship; no matter how much you love the person, the best thing is to walk away. Don't hope for him to change. Always walk away without thinking twice; your well-being should be your first priority.
