We are more knowledgeable

Let's dive into the topic; easy access is it's a blessing. It's a blessing, and sometimes it looks as if it is a curse cause the level of rubbish being displayed online makes it look as if it is a curse, but the way it has saved lives, too, has made it a blessing.

During my primary and secondary school days, phones were not rampant, and if you even managed to get it, it was usually a Nokia 3310 and the school authority wouldn't even allow you to bring it to school or talk more about using it. In fact, any phone that was given to you, is so that your parents can communicate with you when they are not around. It's not for your personal use.

During the olden days, if you want to get any information, you had to go to the library. Sometimes, they had to get information by reading a newspaper by the roadside, which is still being practiced by some people to date. During those days students will have to go to the library to sign up for the books they want and they will stay there to do all their research expect you are a serious person, that's when they will allow you to sign out any book, maybe you get journals or any printed material you want for your use.

During those days, you have to listen to the radio And NTA news to get other vital information too. At that time, my daddy would always change the television to watch the seven o'clock and nine o'clock news. If there happens to be no light to watch it, he will tune in to his radio immediately.

Then, if you miss school, you will have to trek down to your classmate's house to get her notebook to copy Compared to this present generation, they will just snap it with their phone and send it to you on WhatsApp; if you like, you copy or you just leave it there to study later.

During the olden days, they get information from town criers and from sharing it mouth to mouth. When they gather in the village square or in the marketplace places, that is how information is shared then.

In our present generation, everything is just made easy, with no stress. You can get first-hand information from your search engines like Google, Bing, and Opera Mini, it helps us find specific information quickly and efficiently. The internet has revolutionized the way we access information. We can search, browse, and explore vast amounts of data online.

Social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok provide real-time updates, news, and information. TikTok has actually helped some people to become celebrities and has equally destroyed some people. The lengths that people go to just so they can be wealthy and the things they put up online, although technological advancement is good.

It's gradually reducing our social space to a childish play. Imagine an accident scene where everybody is supposed to help and rescue people; they are videoing to be the first to post it online, and always fake and unverified news is posted every day, causing panic in people's hearts.

Things that children are not supposed to see are being shared like no man's business. Although it has its disadvantages, it won't stop us from advancing, but then be careful what we put out there.

Yes, we have become more knowledgeable than our predecessors, and life has been made more easy, but I wish some old things could be brought back.
