Hello hivers welcome to my blog
Sunday is the day set aside for Christians to worship, and I always look forward to having a fascinating time in God's presence with fellow believers, and today I will be sharing with my beautiful friend here on hive some of the lessons for Sunday's sermon.
I worship in the Father's house, minister here in the rock city of Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria, and I pondered over the teaching of my pastor today in church, which I decided to share here on my blog.
The message was captioned, "What is prophecy? What to do with prophecy Prophecy is the forecasting of the future in its simplest definition. At times when children are born, whether in Christian homes or non-Christian homes, words are spoken concerning the new born baby even before they begin to know what life feels like, and in some cases, children are brought up or trained in a particular way depending on the words spoken about their future.
In the case of Jesus the Messiah of the world, it was prophesied long before he was born, and he grew up with that consciousness to the extent that when he was just 12 years old, his parents left him at the temple, and after a 3-day journey, they found out Jesus wasn't with them and had to return to the temple. When they found Jesus and asked him why he had stayed back, his reply was, "Don't you know, I must be about my father's business."
There are different characters in the Bible who had words spoken about them as prophecies, which became their reality.
What to do with prophecy
- Write it down the
Habakkuk 2:1 I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and I will watch to see what he will say unto me and what I shall answer when I am reproved. 2:2 And the LORD answered me and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
Writing it down helps us to picture clearly where we are going, what to do in order to get to where we are going, and what not to do as well. Writing down prophecy about one's life helps to give a focus and sense of direction on what needs to be done in order for such prophecy to become our reality.
Believe the prophecy.
Technically, there's no way a man can pursue anything without first believing in whatever it is that has been said concerning you.Speak the prophecy to yourself.
Talking positively to ourselves has a way of configuring our minds and propelling us to do the right things in order for our prophecy to be fulfilled. Words are powerful, and the power of our words can not be overemphasized because scripture says, "" Numbers 14:28. Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in my ears, so will I do to you." The words we speak have a way of coming to life; if we speak them long enough, they begin to find expression.
- Develop yourself.
Daniel was relevant in the land of Babylon because he was a man who developed himself. Daniel 9:2 (KJV)
"In the first year of his reign, Daniel understood by books." Daniel's relevance was due to the fact that he developed himself to the extent that King Nebuchadnezzer has a dream that he forgot and asked all the wise me to come and tell him his dream and the interpretation, but they couldn't. But when the matter came to Daniel, he asked for the king's patience, and after some days, through the help of God, he was able to tell the king his dream and its interpretation.
Joseph, which was used as a case study during the sermon, also developed himself in the area of dream interpretation, and he interpreted dreams for the king's servant in prison as well before an opening came for him to interpret a dream for Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, which opened the door for him to become his dream.
This is a reminder of the fact that whatever our hand finds to do we should do it well on, like the Joseph brethren who couldn't recognize Joseph when they came to Egypt to buy food during the faming because Joseph had become his dream because all the things Joseph went through in his life prepared him for the palace, which is why we must be diligent and deliberate in developing ourselves in order to fulfill prophecy because prophecy places a demand on the head of the one it is spoken about.
If you do nothing, you will remain in the same spot.
