Delicious Homemade Bread Cutlets Recipe

Ingredients You'll Need
Boiled potatoes – Mashed well
Green chilies – Finely chopped (as per taste)
Ginger – Crushed or grated
Onion – Finely chopped
Cumin powder – ½ tsp
Coriander powder – ½ tsp
Fennel powder – ½ tsp (or crushed fennel seeds)
Chaat masala – ½ tsp
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Kashmiri red chili powder – ½ tsp (for color)
Salt – As per taste
Fresh coriander leaves – Chopped
Bread slices – To make cutlets and crumbs
Eggs – 1 or 2, beaten with a pinch of salt
Oil – For frying
Step by Step process _
Step 1: Prepare the Spiced Potato Filling
Heat some oil in a pan.Add finely chopped onions and sauté until slightly golden.
Add cumin powder, coriander powder, fennel powder, and chaat masala. If you don't have powdered spices, you can crush whole cumin, coriander, and fennel seeds and add them along with the chaat masala.
Add crushed ginger and green chilies, and sauté for another 2 minutes.
Now, mix in turmeric powder, Kashmiri red chili powder (for a beautiful color), and salt.
Stir well, then add the mashed potatoes. Mix everything thoroughly and cook for 3–4 minutes.
Taste the mixture and adjust salt or spice if needed. A little extra spice makes it even more delicious.
Add freshly chopped coriander leaves, mix well, and turn off the heat. Let the mixture cool completely.
Step 2: Prepare the Bread and Coating
Take a few slices of bread and make fine crumbs. If you have old or slightly dry bread at home, it works best for making crumbs. In a small bowl, beat the eggs with a pinch of salt.
Step 3: Shape the Cutlets
Take a slice of bread and lightly sprinkle water on it to soften it. Gently press the bread to remove excess moisture. Place a portion of the spiced potato filling in the center and carefully shape it into an oval or round cutlet.
Dip the cutlet into the beaten egg mixture.
Roll it in the bread crumbs, pressing gently to ensure an even coating. Repeat the process with all cutlets and set them aside.
Step 4: Fry to Perfection
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.Once hot, gently place the cutlets into the oil and fry on low heat, flipping occasionally until they turn golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
Your crispy and delicious bread cutlets are now ready to be enjoyed . Serve them hot with ketchup, green chutney, or just as they are. The crispy outer layer and flavorful potato filling make them a perfect snack for any occasion.
