You can use software to emulate raid drive by installing multiple hard drive to simulate raid array. Those days when only IDE drive available, there's limited storage device that can installed into a computer, and therefore required SCSI card to plonk more hard drive.
It's ok, you already got the idea of what RAID is, just do the new way. I can build computers and servers. My last built ran windows server 2008, that's like almost 2 decades ago. I'm no longer competent in technology since I have joined the sales team. Cheers

Just find your local computer hardware store do go with the menu. Unless you can find parts from the 90s and still willing to pay for it. Most of the stuff I last used is now precious museum piece or collectibles which have problem installing windows 8 if you know what that is.
