hello there, @drceeyou here
I am writing as a response to the weekly featured content prompt... wait! You already know this. So, let me go into what I have prepared for your pleasure.
Hive can be a wild west sometimes, anything can happen. So imagine you can choose a superpower, but you must choose only one so you have to do that carefully. What superpower will you choose? How will you use it? Any plans on doing something special?
Jim Kwik is a brain Coach. I didn't know such a profession existed too, until I started to watch his videos. He tells a fascinating story about how he turned from being the boy with a broken brain to being the world's foremost brain coach, teaching people all over the world, optimal ways to use their brains. He works with actors to help them memorize their scripts, he works with institutional heads to help them recite their speeches by heart.
Ok. So what does this have to do with me and my chosen superpower? The answer is
Everything.
If I was asked to chose a superpower 5yrs ago, I might have chosen, teleportation, or the ability to tell the future, or super strength. But when I met Jim. my perspective changed.
You've probably seen the movie Aladdin. The story of the Genie that could grant you 3 wishes. You would notice that the Genie would tell whoever was his master that...
you can't wish for the ability to make infinite wishes.
Because, that would defeat the purpose of giving just 3 wishes. It would mean that even thought you can only make 3 wishes, in reality, the number of wishes you can make would be infinite. So, that wish would not count with the genie.
When I met Jim, he said something that resonates in my mind.
Imagine you have the ability to learn anything you want. Music, business,, sports, anything. You can actually teach your brain to learn faster.
I thought about it. If I want a super power, it would be the ability to learn anything I want in seconds, or maybe a few minutes. Comparing it with the genie and his wishes, My super power is like making a wish to be able to make any wish at any time.
I heard Jim make reference to a movie in one of his videos. He talked about the fact that having the ability to learn anything you want to is like taking that blue pill in the movie "Limitless" and literally becoming limitless. So I decided to go look for the movie and I found it.
The movie is about an experimental recreational drug that enhances performance by over a thousand percent. Eddie was this messed up guy with a messed up life. He was an author but had been affected by the worse case of writers block. Every time he sat down to type, he would look at his blank screen for hours until he finally gives up and goes to do something else. Somehow, he got his hand on this experimental drug called NZT-48.
This is how wikipedia describes the effect of the drug on Eddie
On the drug, Eddie discovers that he has acquired perfect recall, and is able to analyze minute details and information at incredible speed.
The ability to learn anything in a flash. That's the coolest superpower in the world. But like the saying goes
With great power comes great responsibility
It means that I must be able to use my power to do something meaningful. So here comes the question... the moment of truth.
If I had the power to learn anything in a flash, what would I use it to do?
You know, I have always wanted to have this kind of super power, but I haven't really thought about what I would use it to do. Using it to learn all of history? Or learn everything about blockchain technology? Or learn Astrophysics? For what purpose? But one thing has always been a constant in my mind and that is... I want to help people.
So it doesn't really matter what I learn with my superpower, as long as I use it to help humanity. They say charity begins at home, so I would first learn all that exists about the medical profession. Having that kind of knowledge means that I would have a very unique perspective in every field of medicine.
That would mean that I can help medicine make the giant strides that have been so elusive for so long. I would find a way to share my superpower with other people, because the problems of the world cannot be solved by one freak with a superpower. But with a team that have the capacity to learn anything at lightening speeds, the possibilities are endless, literally.

The ability to learn everything and anything would mean that no topic would be off-limits to you, and no knowledge would be too much for you to carry in your head. It would be good to have such power, but then just like in the movie, it will have its own crosses.
You have to be ready to bear them.
