The crypto universe changes rapidly, with new developments emerging all the time, and it's a challenge to keep up with even a fraction of this evolution.
Initially, I imagined that cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin could be used as a currency of exchange. The idea of someone buying a product using Bitcoin is interesting, especially considering that there are places where BTC is already accepted as a means of payment. However, due to the high volatility of cryptocurrencies, this is not an efficient option for daily transactions. This is why stablecoins, which are paired with fiat currencies, have emerged. They have become an interesting alternative for use as currency, as they are less subject to the fluctuations typical of cryptocurrencies.
An example of this is $HBD, an algorithmic stablecoin from Hive, pegged to the dollar. It is widely used in trades in places like #Sucre. This system strengthens the Hive ecosystem, as these tokens are not exchanged for fiat currencies, allowing $HBD users to move away from government systems and possibly taxes.
In Venezuela, for example, many have accepted Bitcoin as a form of payment due to the economic crisis, which is exacerbated by the mismanagement of the socialist government and the large devaluation of the local currency, as well as high inflation. In this context, the solution adopted by many Venezuelans has been to accept anything except the local currency - such as dollars, BTC and stablecoins. However, the use of Bitcoin has declined among Venezuelans due to its volatility. If there were no fiat currencies, how would it be possible to price the value of Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency? Many libertarians believe that the salvation of the traditional financial system lies in Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, but without the fiat system, it is impossible to price the value of cryptocurrencies consistently.
If Bitcoin were to be priced without relying on a fiat currency, other cryptocurrencies could be valued based on the value of BTC. Only then could the crypto world completely detach itself from fiat currencies. Currently, there is a significant correlation between cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies. While fiat currencies suffer inflation, BTC, for example, tends to appreciate in value as more coins enter circulation and part of them go onto the blockchain, a phenomenon that also happens with other cryptocurrencies.
Imagining a world made up exclusively of cryptocurrencies is fascinating at first glance, but at the moment it's impossible. Cryptocurrencies are still an extension of fiat currencies. A world without fiat currencies would probably also mean a world without governments - a scenario with more freedom, but also with fewer taxes. However, this would not be without its problems, such as centralization, where a few hold much of the wealth while many remain disadvantaged.

A ideia de alguém comprar um produto utilizando Bitcoin é interessante, especialmente considerando que existem lugares onde o BTC já é aceito como meio de pagamento. No entanto, devido à alta volatilidade das criptomoedas, essa não é uma opção eficiente para transações diárias. Foi por isso que surgiram as stablecoins, que são pareadas a moedas fiduciárias. Elas se tornaram uma alternativa interessante para o uso como moeda, pois estão menos sujeitas às flutuações típicas das criptomoedas.

Não podemos fingir que todos tem o mesmo acesso à equipamentos, celulares, internet e infraestrutura de rede. As vezes quando estou em viagem pelo Brasil passo por regiões onde não há sinal de celular, e adeus ao pix. Outros lugares nem aceitam cartão de crédito. Então o desafio da universalização é também o desafio da infraestrutura para todos!
