Monetizing social media is something I was excited about even though I have not benefited directly from it yet but seeing how it is transforming the lives of people makes me glad.
A lot of people walked out of poverty as a result of this innovation, the rate of dependency and unemployment also reduced as those who know how to earn through social media and have met the requirements now have something to do.
It's amazing how social media is happening more than in the real world. Social media suddenly became even more fun as there is always something to either watch or read to get entertained or educated.
A friend of mine was telling me how the money he earns from YouTube is what is currently paying his bills and I was amazed.
Nowadays, Social Media is no longer a place of entertainment alone, it's also a place of opportunity for those who are ready and are able to master how it works.
Because of the opportunities that lie on these social platforms, people are tempted to be among the beneficiaries by any means and that is not bad, at least I can call it “enthusiasm,” but the aspect where people want to enjoy this privilege yet don't want to work for it is annoying.
This opportunity is here for our good, it's like compensation for the time and effort we use to engage in social media.
I expected that we should appreciate it by creating authentic content but the reverse is the case. Some people see it as a get-rich-quick scheme, so they either steal others' content or spread false information to get attention.
Yesterday, I was scrolling through my feed on Facebook and I saw this video, the title was “How to know if your girlfriend is loyal.” It piqued my interest and I decided to open it. Guess what I saw, The lady was just dancing in the video and never said a word till the end.
I was like what is this? I really felt bad for burning my data to view that. These days, bloggers are fond of spreading false news about celebrities and happenings in the world just to get likes and comments.
A blogger will sit somewhere in the comfort of his/her room and then create a lie, saying what was not said and throwing people into confusion.
Social media used to be one of the places where authentic news is gotten. Now that monetization has made content creators begin to spread false information just to promote their content, I fear that legitimate information may soon be lacking on social media.
It is not wrong to want to earn money but it's evil to earn by giving the wrong information. The reason why the reward is tagged “earn,” is because it is supposed to be merited.
Excellence and authenticity should be reflected in each content. That is what adds beauty to the contents; it also shows that the creator is grateful and happy with what he or she is doing.
All these bad behaviors by content creators are making the thing look like the idea to monetize social media was a mistake and I wish it would stop.
From my perspective, I think the idea was a great one as it is affecting lives positively.
I am happy to see many youths embracing the opportunity. Nevertheless, I think it will be nice for people to take their time to learn about how to earn from social media and how to make quality and educative content instead of just going about spreading false information.
One suggestion I have in view of this is for all monetized social media to establish strict law that frowns upon poor content and deceptive content.
The punishment should lead to a ban if the act persists. I think when people notice this, they will be more careful with the kind of content they create.
It's the dancing lady for me😅.
But that's the current trend of putting such information. I didn't see the video but I think I know what it looks like. Those people, once they have massive followers, they can upload anything and still get reactions 😅
Omo, the dancing is for you o🤣
I noticed this thing with many content creators, once they get to a significant point, they no longer value quality.
Thanks for stopping by sir
Bro this is just what I said in my response to the prompt, we need a measure that would be put in place to punish whoever is abusing the monetisation, people can be very greedy and Fraudulent when it comes to making money
Exactly sir, if a measure is taken against those who feel they can play smart and go scot free, it will do social media good
Thanks
Thank you ❣️
