You got a huge point here ma. Christmas is really not about eating and drinking, it's the celebration of the birth of Christ who brought salvation into the world. This message alone is supposed to make everyone of us focus on trying to fix our lives right and giving God glory rather than spending unnecessarily.
Well, we can't avoid spending during this season, that's just the truth, whatever it is the point there is spending with caution, else you will live to be clearing debit for months after Christmas.
