Actually, God is supposed to be the bed rock of every home except if we want to have homes with faulty foundation.
You have really opened my eyes to a lot about marriage, some people believe that marriage is hell, but you have proven it to me that it is not, it's our responsibility to make our homes either happy or sad.
At one point or the other, one must have misunderstanding with their partner , we are all humans and we have our flaws, imagine two different individuals coming together from different backgrounds, different experience, different mindset to be one.. one don't just expect things to work blend over night, like you said it is a journey.
That aspect of sacrifice you spoke about is a big mystery, that when properly understood, can keep a marriage going even when love seem to have faded. I think I need to come for extra classes on that one

YEA, it takes lots of patience to build home together. You need patience to understand your spouse and even help him work on his weaknesses. Troubles may come but if truly the is there , it will be easier for you to scale through together
