I guess it is all part of their endeavours of getting public acknowledgement for their good deeds but there are other scenarios we need to consider, it might seem like they are getting public recognition for what they are doing but I have also seen some situations where by homeless people were helped through the same technique. I mean does the act change the good their generosity is doing?
In terms of charity I think that something is better than nothing. But still I don't want to feed their wish of recognition for giving money! Ok you donated money that's nice for you and that's it... I can't start to praise them as god just because they did the good. It is something with their self-esteem, low self-esteem and they need praise.
