In a world filled with abundance of cruelty, where man kind strive to achieve the best he could at the cost of another man's life, where the thought of kindness and forgiveness feels irritative among the so called humans created by just a creator. we all shared a bond at the beginning, when we had nothing but our humanity as our guide and most primary value. it makes you wonder, where did it all go wrong?
who do I call a brother or a friend, he who put me shackles, butchered my flesh like an animal, sold me out to the vipers like a slave. he who comforted me with songs of hope and happily ever after with gentle spat on my back, his smiles melting down my walls and making me wanna live again, it all came crashing down the moment I outlived my usefulness, the truth came gushing out like mountain smoke. he was a friend in need for a moment but never a friend indeed.
I was told of tales by women and men from different generations, giving an account of the cruelty they have witnessed. they spoke of the hardships till their saliva runs out. what is the point of living, if there isn't a moment of peace, A memorable act of kindness and a shoulder to cry on.
I have wandered around different corners of the earth, with each turn I have witnessed different types of men, the experience hardened my heart, for a moment I gave up on humans because I thought all hope was lost. the act of wickedness of man kind, grew stronger by the day like burning flames of a volcanic ash In hurry to rob the earth of everything dear.
on my regular route searching for my daily bread, I walked a path I have always knew. A pedestrian bridge it was called. why walking through the tides of the bridge, I heard a noise a noise from a distance, I spared a gaze. A begger it was, calling desperately for my attention. I thought for a sec, what could she possibly want, I was not in the mood for any act of generosity. but my curious nature sets in and I was forced to hear her out. what happened next was unexpected.
I hurriedly answered the begger call on the pedestrian bridge, she pointed to a person behind me, I saw two blind women lost on the bridge trying to find there way down the path, with the looks of things, the begger asked me for a favour, not for cash like they usually do but to help the two blind women find there path.
I was in no position to deny her such a request, my humanity was turned on and I was filled with sympathy. I rushed to the aid of the two blind women, took them by the hands. we started making our way down the bridge, it was a long walk not a regular one I'm familiar with, every step was monitored to avoid making them crash into an object. on our way down the bridge, we met different strangers in our path, some filled with pity like I do, some looked upon us with disgust and stay miles away from us like we were parasites.
in few minutes, we made it down the bridge, it felt like whole day passed by. I was grateful for every sec I spent walking them down the bridge because I realised, i might be struggling with some troubles but none of it is close to what those two women were enduring. but during all the time we spent walking, they were filled with laughter and gratitude. I was amazed by how they were filled with positivity throughout the whole journey.
on getting down the bridge, it was time for them to take a bike, every bike men will seek looked at us and walked away, I wonder what they were thinking. For a sec I thought they might be filled with sympathy like I do, I must have forgotten, it is in the nature of man kind to be cruel.
eventually we found a bike but like every other human, they took advantage of the blind women and tried to exploit them with prices. I stepped in an negotiated, though it didn't have much effect. I had spare some cash to assist the women with the bike expenses because I knew, the moment that bike man leaves, we might not get another.
the blind women took the bike and rod off, they were both filled with gratitude enough to light on my face with a beautiful smile, I felt good about myself, I felt what it feels to be human.
while thinking of my act, a thought crossed my mind about the begger on the bridge, I kept on thinking, despite her cruel reality, she was willing to help another. that was an attitude I have not seen in best of men in better conditions than she was. I guess kindness and generosity is an attitude regardless of a persons situation.
Then I said to my self, if a begger could assist another then what is my excuse? what is your excuse? all it takes is a show of kindness by the few of us willing to try, then humanity will stand a chance against the world of cruelty and wickedness of men. like every other human attitude, kindness is contagious. eventually it will spread all round the earth and songs of hope would be sang again. All it takes is a little effort.
Is it 5 minutes already? Oh I must have spoken without paying cognisance to the time, hope it was worth your time.

Life is tough, and anything that will even seem to add a little bit of difficulties to it, people will avoid it like a plague. What those people did is not right, but then it's just life. I'm glad the women were full of positive vibes though, and what you did stood out for them. You are a classic reminder that there are still good people in this world.
Thank you for sharing this with us.
Yeah you are right but the act of kindness shouldn't be seen as stress. It is something that we should be will to do with ease because without it we are just bunch of wild creatures waiting to devour each other.
