Toxic relationship is an unhealthy relationship where it either involve a physical abuse or mental and emotional stress. For this kind of relationship, when not properly dealt with on time can lead to life time damages which death is inevitable.
I have seen and come in close contact with a toxic relationship and per experience there are several reasons as to why people endure a toxic relationship of which first is love. Love is stupid sometimes and one blind person madly in love with the wrong partner will want to endure to any length. About two years ago, I traveled to Abuja Nigeria and my next door neighbor happens to be a woman beater. Although from when I saw him even without knowing his behavior I just like felt something off about him but I was forcing myself to greet him and all that.
So this very day I already dressed to go to work and my other neighbors were out already except myself and the couples with their one year old baby when all of a sudden I started hearing I will kill you today, you must die or I die!! Honestly that fight was so severe and my innocent me can not go and share such fight that involved pouring of hot water but just then I think one of my neighbor forgot something at home and then met them in such situation and that was how that drama ended only for the fighting couple to go out after they were both separated and come back home in the evening loving each other.
Curiosity made me ask question and was told even before they wed in church while dating the man would beat the hell out if her and even during pregnancy and continued after child birth thats why I said love can still make one ignorant patner to still remain in such a toxic relationship. Also in such situation it is adviced that both partners seek guidance from a counselor, spiritual head ( pastors etc) or a respected individual they can trust to help them come out from brutality.
Normalized abuse can also make a person stay in a toxic relationship too. I came across a podcast and decided to follow it where the lady in question talked about how she's never known anything like true love her entire life right from when she was born. As a child she was seperated from her mother and her father hated her for no reason. She further her education and it happened her first love was so toxic. Her story was quite a long one but then I realized that one can normalized abuse thank God she's recovering now and can experience true love by meeting a good leader who kept mentoring her and led her to Christ.

Surely the point @ene22 . Toxic i a relationship leads to depression too. We should always look out for those signs that tells us its over.
