Ever since I was little, it has been a passion for me to see things and want to recycle them. I hardly come across recycled objects and do not want to use them even if I don't have anything in mind of what to do with it at the moment I must save them for later use. This passion for recycling objects like I earlier said started ever since as a little girl because my aunt who used to live with us before getting married was good at recycling objects especially plastic bottles. she believes nothing is a waste and ensures to create beautiful things out of what people called to be useless.
At some point I almost abandoned recycling until I joined the hive family and my love for projects rekindled all thanks to the @Diyhub community who made me believe even more on arts. I see more reasons I need to recycle not just for myself or consumption but for my environment because the more these items are used it makes the society an easy place to keep living.
I recycle as often as I can especially when I go sorting for new materials because I just can't wait to see what life I can give to it. And while sometimes I recycle thrice a week, sometimes I do it twice or once in a month depending on my availability but just know every month I must recycle an object. Just know there are different ways of recycling objects either by taking it to the recycling machine where you get to sell your plastic bottles in exchange for cash. Or you either sell to the local vendors where they take it to companies that later recycle it and lastly just the way I do mine I turn them into beautiful usable items that can be used at home. Although I have not done any recycling projects this month but the last time I did one was last month because school has been hectic lately.
Nigeria has a fast growing recycling industry that is today fueled by both private and the government to manage waste in the society. Recycling does not only involve that of plastic bottles but also metals and iron and papers for repurposing and refuse. Some of these agencies involved are greenhill recycling, wamason ( waste management society of Nigeria). But then the most effective way of recycling in my country that is commonly practice even children is by gathering these materials at home and there are some guys that patrol to buy it like we have the iron condemn guys that buys metals and supply it to their suppliers where it is later taken to companies to undergo due processes. I make use of the available system when their is scrapped materials at home because I know I will get some cash after selling.
Thank you so much 😊
I think people also needs to be more aware of Recycling, more awareness and support from the Government.
That's true because majority of the people are still not aware of recycling.
