Christmas is one of the special seasons for most of us, it is not like the regular day, it is a day when we are merry and show love to others, it is always a season to be remembered. Christmas comes with lots of goodies and sharing of things, it is a day when we abandon work activities and relax with family and friends.

In all we are doing this Christmas there should be always proper planning in other not to be broke after the season, we must take some things into measure, the way we spend in this season is very important and should be put into consideration.

The first thing to do is to have a Budget, working with a budget always helps a lot, how many visitors are you expecting? How many chicken are you using and how many bags of rice are you cooking? This will help you to cut down costs and manage yourself rather than cooking for the nation, Christmas is not an avenue to go into bankruptcy.

I was having a meeting with my sister yesterday in other to know how many people we are preparing food for, one of our traditions is to share food with all the neighbors including all the securities in her estate, we counted the people who we are going to share food for and I work with it this morning, I cooked exactly for the people I counted, for us not to waste our resources, most people are Christian in the estate so we only share food for our other religions and shared drinks and chin-chin for the Christians.

Also, we cut down on some unnecessary expenses, instead of buying drinks for the family we made hibiscus drink which we know as zobo in my country, the price of drinks are so expensive in the country, my sister has the intention of buying five cartoons of juice but I told her we can make zobo, we did this zobo and it was superb, we added different kinds of flavor with all the necessary ingredients without managing any of it, the zobo was so rich and it is good for the body as well, we put them in the freezer and it was chilled then we used it to serve all the people in the area.

I know how much the juice will cost her and I needed to help cut down so many expenses, I want her to have some savings because we are moving to the end of the year, and January is always dry because of some unnecessary expenses that have happened in December.

The theme of this Christmas for me and my family is no wastage, is better not to be too enough than to waste food in this Economy, we try to cut our clothes According to our fabrics not According to our size anymore, there is still a long day ahead in the coming year than to be wasting and spending extravagantly in this festive season.

We manage our resources perfectly, we owe no one apology for not giving them anything, we tried in our little way and we are satisfied we what we have, I know so many people will get new clothes, shoes, new hair and the rest, I am not saying buying those things are not good but I didn't waste my money on new shoes and clothes, I make use of the ones I have saving my money for the coming year.

This is my response to today's episode of hivelearners community prompt of #hl-w145e2 which the topic is tagged CHECK YOUR FINANCES

Cutting costs on unnecessary spendings in December will make January exactly 31 days instead of 331. Lol.
