The Public-Private Sector Conundrum: Quality vs Affordability

There is a clear difference between the private and public sectors, it only depends on your purse, the government is nonchalant about things that are important to the people, they always neglect their properties and never care to renovate them.

Let's talk about our health care services, they are not up to standard, even our politicians prefer to use private health care because of the equipment they have, they are always up to the task and put more effort into creating standard structure. Private sectors are expensive unlike the government sectors, I do not blame them because of the equipment and how standard they are.

Some years back my sister was about to give birth in a government health care, she was in labor in the middle of the night and we rushed her to the hospital, we got to the hospital and we were told they were on strike, my sister was fighting for her life while we are sorting how to get another hospital for her because she was in labor and the pain was extreme.

We begged for staff in that hospital maybe they could attend to us just for her to give birth but no one answered us, it was like they were trained to be callous, no one attended to us, so we left and started looking for a new hospital, we later saw a private hospital that attended to us and save my sister's life. It is very rare to see a private hospital going on strike in my area, their equipment is well-lit.

Governments are improving in some areas now but not as standard as the private sector, for example in the educational sector, the private prioritizes the well-being of their students unlike the government's own, people who manage government properties are always nonchalant about anything that comes out of it.

We can see a clear difference between children who attend private schools to the ones who attend public schools, the teachers are always fighting for their salaries and put the children's future at stake, they are not bothered about the student's performance, unlike the private schools who monitors their students moral and behavior and make sure they are well behaved in anywhere they found themselves.

There was a time I saw some children wandering around the street, I was opportune to talk to them and asked why they were not in school, and one of them said the teacher sent them to the market to get foodstuffs, I was shocked because education is not that valued in the public sector, children who are supposed to be in class studying are roaming about the street while you can never see any private schools children roaming about the street.

In the aspect of health care, I can guarantee the private sector, they are trying with good facilities but in the aspect of working with the government, I can say the government is trying as well, both parties have their distinctive way which makes it different from each other.

Government jobs come with a lot of ease unlike the private sectors which are very strict and can owe salaries, no vacation, and no resting period, workers are not treated nicely, and the workload is much more than what they receive at the end of the month but working with the government comes with no difficulty at all, you will always enjoy working and your salary with some benefits is sure at the end of the month or the year.
