WORK LIFE: FLEXIBLE YET MAINTAINING PROFESSIONALITY

in Hive Learners4 days ago

Work is a blessing to humanity as it is a means of communicating value in terms of products and services for a better living. Through work, we give expression to our individual talents, skills and abilities. There are different types of work based on individual preferences, field of study, passion/interest and so on. The most important thing is to be satisfied and keep getting better in what one does so as not to defeat the purpose of work which is value creation, value addition/exchange with rewards inform of income, salaries, wages, commissions etc following thereafter.

One of the most profound apreciable benefit of work is creativity and dynamism. For it to be truly work, it ought to involve some level of creativity or originality as this is what brings in inspiration to do/give in more to work and not to be redundant. By human nature, inquisity is part of life as we seek to know more and explore more, so should it reflect in our work as this makes us better and adds more value to us so as to give out more value aswell to others. As a professional healthcare provider (Pharmacist) working in a Community Pharmacy practice, there is professional ethics that guides the profession and also, there is room for innovation/creativity because we are dealing with people with a product (drugs, medicines, consumables) and it involves a professional service.

The balance of these three is very important amidst the jurisdiction of professional ethics while still been creative/innovative. For example, i see and consult patients daily dealing with each individual differently based on differences as regards personality, gender, complaint etc. I'm still creative with how i conduct my professional duties as related to the staffs and patients which makes each day to be a day to be looked out for to work. Another flexibility i have is how stocking, shelving and arrangement is done even as to meet the international best practice and global standards amidst the digital age and revolution we are.

As the person in charge of the pharmacy premise, whenever there is need for any adjustment or there is need for any change to be effected, I'm free to execute such for better productivity and service delivery. There are changes i made because of experiences learnt over time and now been well utilised at my workplace. I like the way things are even as it gets better as we adjust and make changes for the better in products and service delivery upholding professional standards. As someone who loves and encourages creativity, it also reflects in my other works like blogging either in writing or in visuals as seen on Hive platform as i don't like to be static. In addition, my worklife flexibility helped me to have a good family life and commitment in other areas of life. In all, work satisfaction comes by innovation/creativity and not just to be static and redundant. For anyone experiencing otherwise, the choice is to either stay or leave, but the best decision lies with the individual. Thank you for reading and comments/contributions are welcomed.

I'm glad you have the privilege to make certain changes in your work place, some don't have the privilege, they remain under some rules set out by the employers.
