Greetings to everyone reading my entry at this point. Its been one level of great themes to another. I can't forge ahead without acknowledging the efforts of the entire management team for their consistency in bringing prompts all the time. Kudos to all the participants.
Recycling is powerful practices that plays a vital role in the environment and society at large. Recycling helps in conserving and preserving resources and control waste in having negative impacts in the environment or human beings. In this post, I would like to share significance of recycling and how I have been able to recycle lots of things.
Significance of recycling
Recycling has environmental, economical and social benefits. Let me run a quick look at these factors.
- The significance of recycling has lots of economic importance. It creates job opportunities. Today we have industries that specialize in collecting and processing most of these wastes into something meaningful. This paves way for people to get employed. I was in Jos some months back, I had the privilege to visit one of the industries that processes cans into other valuable. This would also reduce the cost because products price will be subsidized that common man could buy.
- Another significance of recycling is in the area of environment. Recycling would help to reduce the rate of waste like the presence of incinerator which curb waste disposal.
- The social benefits of recycling is that it engages the community and helps to reduce the impacts of health and improve well being of the people. Like in my area monthly sanitation has been organized to help convert wastes to something good.
How often do I recycle?
Most at times I noticed that one recycles unconsciously. I can't count the numbers of times that I recycle my wastes. Recently my oldest son went on excursion to Abuja, he returned with some empty cans of bottles. These bottles are used to refill and preserve local juice for family consumption. There are so many things we recycle. Last term, my small daughter damaged her water bottle. I was wondering what we would do again? I thought of discarding it but my wife says no she would use it for another function. She washed it and clean it very well and turned it to salt and sugar container.
I always try to convert every waste to another thing meaningful. Thank God for hive and Cleanplanet community where i could make post and carryout waste management control. This helps me to keep the environment cleaned. The leather and nylon i bought things from, I use it to make fire in my charcoal stove. This serves as fuel instead of burning money on other things.
I have used gallons that I bought honey from to a preserving store where i kept my beans away from weevil and other insects.
Is there any recycling policy or law in my country?
As u type this blog, I have not heard of anything about recycling except may be the next sets of leadership would postulate some that would cover that. Personally I don't like the waste management control in some other parts of the country.
Conclusion
During my service year in Gombe, i had the privilege to see companies that are solely in to waste management control. Recycling is vital and has so many significance.
Thanks for reading through.
It is absolutely true that if such a system is introduced in every country, then job opportunities will also be created there and people will also get jobs because of these machines.
