ITS A YES TO MY DREAM JOB

in Hive Learners2 days ago
Submitting my social media life to my employer is a big YES and No. We all know that social media is an engaging platform that can be used for various purposes including entertainment, sharing content, connecting with others, business, and marketing. Greetings everyone and welcome to my blog, it takes about two hours to get to my workplace, so I write and share my stories before I get to my nine-to-five job for the love of writing. It's a yes and a no for me because some of the questions asked, encourage my side hustle which I promote on these social media platforms.

The main reason we work is for the money, when it's not enough to take care of the bills we seek other jobs but when it's not coming, getting a side hustle would be the next line of action.
The present hick in the price of goods in the economy is enough to get other sources of income.
For this contest, my present job would be the case study for my story.
There are Four questions I would answer to explain why I have a YES and NO in response to the contest questions.
SHOULD EMPLOYEES BE EXPECTED TO SUBMIT THEIR SOCIAL MEDIA HANDLES TO THEIR EMPLOYERS?
My present position in the organization I work for Doesn't need my social media account as top management and one of the decision-makers, those working in the Advertising and marketing department could use their social media account to source new clients and also gain the trust of the client. Now they have a reason to submit their social media handle to their employer. To check the success rate and growth of how social media has influenced the business.
WILL THIS BE AN INVASION OF PRIVACY?
Certainly, it was originally my personal space to promote my side hustle and meet new friends, sharing with my employer might automatically make me reduce the content I post for fun.
I have Nothing to hide, social media connects you around the world to those you know and those you don't know. YES, I would give it to my employer because of my position in the organization.
WHAT IF IT WAS ALL THAT STOOD BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR DREAM JOB?
My dream job is to become a virtual assistant writing stories, managing individual social media accounts, and getting paid in dollars, YES, it would be my pleasure to share my social media account with my employer but am sure there would be a contract that binds this invasion of privacy with a higher reward.
I have little information about my details on social media so I would share it with all pleasure.
NOTE
Employees are protected by laws that safeguard their rights in the organization they work for examples are freedom of speech, labor rights, and many others. it's a whole topic for another contest but employee needs to know so you know your rights and boundaries.
In summary, it's a YES for my future job and the publicity it would give my business but it's also an invasion of privacy and it would be best to keep employee's social media out of the employer's business.
It's also a No because its an invasion of privacy.
It's my pleasure to share my thoughts on this weekly contest, week 149 edition 1.

Generally, there is no privacy on social media, we only put up what we want people to see and the rest is history, giving out my social media handles will not be a problem since I am not against the growth of the company or speaking ill of others.

True, I share the same view with you, social media is open to all but when your employee does the same job with the company he works for its not good for business

Sure, there is no privacy on social media but trust me alot of employees do not follow there boss on social media and even when they see an invitation from their boss they turn it down just to have their fun space and mind their work. Personally I can give mine freely but I think it's an invasion of privacy. Thanks for sharing your thoughts

Wow, your response to this contest questions are intriguing and I enjoyed every answer given to the questions. Indeed, your company doesn't need to pry into social media accounts. It's your decision to promote the organization with what you post and your personal content on your account. Your account doesn't affect the company unless there is a special account creator for that purpose, and accountability and transparency will be needed.

Thank you for sharing.

Every person has their own opinion, I would still like to say here that I will not hand over my accounts that have millions of followers to an employee because those 1.2 million people will see my post if anything goes wrong here. If it is posted, my reputation will be damaged.
