So true, I find myself in these situations so many times and getting back on track is not always easy

What I do to help myself sometimes is to forget that I slacked, and then tell myself to brood over it and forge ahead again. Forgetting I slacked helps me to not keep slacking.

That is a great mechanism, it takes the guilt of slacking away.
