A Silly Memory With Free Drinks.

Over the years, I have had a few naughty experiences with alcohol, and they were quite embarrassing for me, even though only my family and a few friends have ever seen me in a drunken state. I am not an addict and do not have the intention to become one, but due to my low tolerance, a few shots can put me in a silly state within a short moment.

My first experience actually reshaped my drinking habit because it could have been pretty messy if the whole drama happened in the wrong place especially in this age and time when people surprisingly find themselves trending online for silly reasons. I would have just woke up the next day struggling with hangover, and someone would break the news to me that my video is everywhere. I honestly can't imagine what my reaction would be.

While growing up, watching a drunk person was one of the funniest shows you can see for free. The way they talk, move, and do other things would always make you laugh.

It would be unfair to blame alcohol for those shows drunk people put up because lack of control and self-discipline is what landed them in that situation. From experience, everyone knows their limit when it comes to alcohol, but we always step out of that limit despite being aware of the consequences.

Then I always said confidently that I wouldn't have anything to do with alcohol, but life happened, and here I am today. I am still not obsessed with alcohol, but there are times when I just crave it and do the needful.

My naughty and silly experiences are nothing compared to the show my friends have put up in my presence, so I do tell a story that involved more than just me.

As a student, we went to parties on weekends for survival, and it was quite fun. You can call it gatecrashing because we were not invited, but there is no way you can tell that we don't even know the party host. We have different colors of native wears that fits for those parties, and we even get lots of attention sometimes.

We went to a wedding party that year, and there were a lot of goodies for the guests. Food and drinks, most especially alcohol, were surplus, so we were quite excited because looting was certain.

Immediately it was item seven, we swung into action, collecting drinks, food, and even gifts. After securing dinner and breakfast for the next morning, we settled to eat properly. The wine and beers were just coming in, and we drank a lot that day; even the newbies to alcohol like me didn't stop sipping this sweet wine.

We were there until around past 6 p.m., and I couldn't even tell where I was by that time because nothing made sense to me anymore. The music became noise to my ears. I wasn't feeling my body, but my brain was partially working, so I just sat watching the alcohol legends do their thing.

It wasn't long before I felt like peeing and went to do the needful. While emptying my bladder, a cool breeze swept past me, and that was all. There was this big coastal bus parked close to where I went to pee, and somehow I found myself sitting in it. I honestly can't remember why.

My friends found me just when the guest who came with the bus started asking if anyone recognized me. I couldn't control myself but didn't do anything stupid either, according to the story.

I was helped out of the bus and that was the end of our stay at the event. I took a long shower to cool off when we got home but still couldn't have a grip on myself; it was so bad that I was falling into potholes in my room whereas there were none. That evening, I watched my friends laugh at me and couldn't join them in feasting on the things we looted. They drank the remaining alcohol and I wondered it didn't affect them.

Later that night, I heard someone opening the gate to our mini-flat. I was feeling better, but the headache I had didn't allow me to sleep. I managed to check the time and it was past 1 a.m., so I went to see who it was.

"Sunday, where are you going by this time?" I asked my friend who had just a boxer on.

"I want to pee," he replied, and I went back inside immediately.

About 20 minutes later, I realized that the door was still open, so I went to check if Sunday had returned, but he was nowhere to be found, and it was then that I realized that the alcohol hadn't worn off in me because there was a toilet inside the flat and we don't pee outside.

"Sunday is drunk!" I screamed and rushed to wake others, but they were all completely messed. They were just saying rubbish, and I had to go seek help from neighbors that night because anything could happen to Sunday.

We combed the entire area searching for Sunday, and even the vigilante joined us. It was a long search, and my eyes got cleared in the process.

Everyone got tired, and just as we were about to give up, someone found Sunday laying on a kiosk, and I felt relieved. We woke him up, he started saying rubbish, and even his breath reek of alcohol. We all went home, and the gist didn't mean much until daybreak, when I had to narrate the whole scenario to my friends.

After that day, I never had alcohol with the guys because we couldn't be all messed up at the same time. My experience at the event discouraged me from drinking outdoors because it could have gotten a lot worse for than just getting into a random vehicle. I did drink outdoors again, and it didn't end well just twice.

I learned to control myself outdoor and can drink as much as I want indoors. I actually don't pass my limit, and that should be the same for everyone.

The drink responsibly warning after an alcohol advert must be taken seriously by people and its pointless drinking to stupor at a go when we can always have the drink later or any other time we want it.

After hearing about your experiences with alcohol and its consequences, it sounds like you have learned a lot. Many, like us, cross the line and regret it later. Your experience is truly instructive, and most people realize their limits when faced with such a situation."

Yeah, until we reach that crazy point with alcohol, many don't know when to stop. Some even know and wouldn't stop just because the alcohol is free.

Nigerians and free things eh lol, thank God you found your friend, it's better for someone to stay sober and watch out for the rest in situations like this.😄😄

Honestly, I learned a huge lesson. They actually had too much to drink at home and if I hadn't felt wasted after the party, I would have drank again at home and only God knows what would have happened to Sunday.

one thing about free thing is people will abuse it more especially when is alcohol am so happy you learnt your lessons. one's you are drunk you will end up regretting your actions that is why we should drink responsibly.

Yeah, that's why they say awuff dey tear belle. A lot of people don't know when to stop once they get anything free, I hope everyone learns from experience but that's not the case with alcohol.

"I just crave it and do the needful!"😂😂😂

You've given up on the battle sir.😂😂😂😂

But then, you've got control. Which is very important. So, you're doing well!

Lolz, I am very much in control and it's just about understanding what our limit is.

A lot of people know but because of awuff, they make themselves useless...

I've also had crazy experiences with alcohol. I've had a crazy hangover once. I don’t think I’ll want that experience to repeat itself.

Same here bro, it's not something any sensible would want to experience again but alcohol can be tempting... 😂
