Understanding stress and developing a pill for myself.

The first time, I came across this quote, I felt like something was wrong with the person who said it but after looking deeply, I realised it was true.

I have many times imagined what life would look like for everyone if stress was not among the things we have to deal with from time to time. Different factors can be responsible for being stressed, it can be either physical or emotional and regardless of what it is, the effect on us isn't cool. Stress is capable of wrecking havoc and that's why paying attention and understanding our body system is compulsory.

Some years ago, I was stuck in traffic for a long time. The road was eventually free and all the vehicles moved but a particular one didn't move and it caused another traffic. People thought the driver slept off and they didn't stop banging on his car. All effort to wake him up was futile and it was then they realised that he had died.

There were different speculations about what could have killed him and the only thing that came to my mind was stress. I was once a victim of stress and always emphasized on the need for people to always pay attention to their health, refusing to rest when we are due for one comes with a higher price than rest.

At the moment, I don't think I have a specific thing that stresses me to the point of breaking down but when you combine every tiny stress from different angles of my life, it is powerful enough to cause havoc.

Surviving has become challenging lately due to the hike in the price of things and considering the bills I have to pay is something I can barely stop thinking about. There are times when the thoughts of these things make me frustrated which will not help but worsen matters.

It usually doesn't start with me just running into these thoughts, it starts with me trying to manage resources for the family and because they are insufficient, the thoughts of coping slowly drag me into that stressed state.

The majority of the time, it is always mentally stressful for me and it's hard because it sometimes prevents me from doing some things with Hive included. There are times I wish to make some commitment on the platform and the fear of finding myself in that state might prevent me from fulfilling my duties diligently.


Our body system works in a tricky way and I can prove it after examining myself for some time. Our body has a way of pretending to be adapting to stress but it's a lie because sooner or later, the consequences of harbouring stress for a long time will come knocking on our day and that's where the problems begin.

When Hans Selye said it is not stress that kills us, it’s our reaction to it. He was right because our approach to stress is what will turn out to become the outcome for us. If stress had a pill to treat it probably nobody will complaining about it today.

I have studied myself after being a victim of stress and I know when things are getting above normal for me. An example of this is not being able to assimilate when reading, this is a sign I don't ignore and I try to get as much rest as possible.

Some problems are just completely beyond what we can take care of in just one strike so why let it get the best of us?

Coping with my kind of stress has made me do lots of outdoor activities such as strolling, hanging out with nature and doing other things I enjoy. It's not like they will take the problems away but these activities have their ways of helping me relax to the point where I will see a way forward unlike when everything was cloudy because of stress.

It's inevitable and we must handle it properly before it handles us roughly.

Stress is unavoidable and trying to avoid it create more stress in my opinion. We need to face it and go through the situation. In that particular time we need to take decisions very carefully because it has seen that in such kind of time most of us take wrong decision and that brings worse outcome.

All effort to wake him up was futile and it was then they realised that he had died.

I have never encountered that kind of situation. It's very sad to hear the news.

Stress needs to be contained and there is no two way to go about it than doing it naturally. Seeking artificial ways will only make it disappear temporarily.

That's true. But many people try to practice the artificial way to feel stress free.

Doing it artificially doesn't help, I have tried alcohol just to counter stress but it didn't work out. It made me tipsy, I slept and when I woke up, I was still feeling stressed.

Usually we get stressed due to household and financial expenses, a common man has a hard time in this era of inflation. You are right that if there was a drug for stress, they would all use it to get rid of their stress.

Being stress is truly inevitable in times like this but for our wellbeing, it is important that we find a way around it.

To get out of stress we have to find some solution. Then we can come out of stress.

Hmmmm, sometimes those pills do more harm than good,if the pills are too much it's not good,..

This is quite true. Stress has a way of pretending like it's not there, till you cross a boundary and see the repercussions of your actions 😅. Well it's helpful that you have been able to study yourself and know how to recognise the signs of stress.

I also do some outdoor activities when my mind and body is overcome by stress. And it really does go a long way in helping out.

Understanding how our body works is one of the best way to start coping with stress and with that, we can come up with a formula for it.

Outdoor activities helps a lot and I always go for it when I feel stressed.

Great read. I was not surprised about the death of the man in the traffic. I knew it would be death when they kept on banging.

And yeah life come with stress. But avoiding them matters most. I also get to understand myself being stressed when I hardly assimilate. So most time I treat myself to something good and get enough sleep.

We only live once.

That's through a lot people go through stress and with the man job, I can tell that he must be experiencing a serious stress but many of these drivers would rather drink alcohol to stay awake instead of sleeping.

Understanding your body system is really important and knowing what works for you is great as well.

You are very Correct. Our approach to stress is what kills us. The many times I get stressed I start agitating and acting rashly, sometimes I flare up at the slightest provocation which always affect the people around.

My husband would always tell me to calm down and take a deeeeep breath.

I have heard of such incident that you described, about a man that died in his car, though it is mostly common among the male gender due to all kind of pressure and expectations from work and family members.

It is getting worse these days due to hike in the prices of product and service making survival nearly impossible but the good news is we will always find a way to survive the current crisis.

Outdoor activities is definitely effective, it is something I engage in from time to time.

Wow,it's really sad that the man died in his car,it might have been stress, maybe he hasn't been able to rest for a while or maybe something else caused that .
Its also true that when we are managing things maybe spending and it's not enough,over thinking about it can cause stress,we just try and manage it however it comes.
