Sometimes I wonder what today's world would be like if there was still no invention or access to the internet because of the so many benefits we get daily having the world at the tip of our fingers through the internet, so many herculean tasks have been made easier, from sourcing information, no longer do we have to travel miles to get access to some information we need, this has also made learning and development of new skills a lot easy thereby leading to more advancement in technology.
Apart from these numerous benefits, do you know that the entertainment we get through the internet has also helped most people deal with depressing stages of their lives, instead of filling their minds with suicidal/depressing thoughts it's better having Tiktok or any other entertaining app take away your mind from such thoughts, also relieving us from stress, the internet is doing so much for us business-wise S well, most of us even earn through the help of the internet, then imagine being suddenly restricted by the government or whatever power from having access to the internet, how would that make you feel?
So it's understandable why one should consider having access to the internet as part of our human rights, because in this era where the government is more focused on their selfish interest rather than the interest of the people, particularly now that the internet has given the voiceless voice that can be heard far and near and also it being everlasting, as the internet never forgets, creating a pool knowledge, instant history and path easily accessible by our younger generation.
The internet isn't just a thing, it's our passion, livelihood and so much more, so yes, it should be a part of our fundamental human rights Although we can't deny the negative impact on the society the internet also causes, which makes it a viable reason for restrictions, so I'm still in support of restricting the internet in a way that it protects us, such as putting kid's restrictions. I also recently came across a post online where the internet speed is usually slowed on a Sunday in Japan to encourage the citizens to embrace the traditional way of life such as taking a walk and having family moments rather than just being stuck with your phone all year long, as cases of addiction to the internet rises as the year goes by, putting frictions amongst families, friends and for students causing a decline in their studies.
In such cases, I believe it should be accepted to some extent since it has a valid reason, and not in the case whereby the restrictions are there to silence use or cover up their crimes, a sad case of the #endsars protest comes to mind, where the government tried to cover their crime even when the evidence was everywhere on the internet, if they had their way, I'm sure they would have shut us down.
In conclusion, the internet should also be a part of our human right.

The world without internet is something I just don't want to imagine.
I always have an extra credit on my browsing line just incase my data finishes and no-one is around to share me hotspot for me to renew. The thought of staying days without data is not pleasing at all.
It's not an addiction though I just don't want to be left in the dark
I understand you, I do sane as well
