MY FAVOURITE MUSIC JOURNEY || WEEKLY FEATURED EDITION

in Hive Learners3 years ago

Music is one of the first human occupations, and it has always existed in human history. There isn't a single activity that isn't accompanied by music. Weddings, marriages, inductions, dedications, and opening and closing events all require good music.

Excellent songs are composed based on how we feel, not how others feel. We write songs based on our personal experiences or sentiments, We have numerous genres of music because people connect differently to different words in a song.Music is never prejudiced; it embraces and accommodates everyone; you don't need the best or most powerful voice to enjoy it.

When you hear a sound or a song, you know exactly how it should sound. You can tell when a performer is singing in a key other than the song's original key. Music is a creative and expressive art form with a wide range of sounds that may be enjoyed in any region of the world.

Several countries, speaking a variety of languages and cultures, produce millions of sounds that are streamed on a regular basis. Everyone has a set of tunes that they adore. Rap, R&B, rock, classical, reggae, and other genres are all possibilities. Legends are now recognized for their tremendous work established these genres of music.

Music never dies, and a record or album can last an eternity. However, most of the songs or albums we think of as eternal are actually songs by deceased musicians. These are the legends who championed a genre even when the rest of the world did not.

Music helps to spread revolutions, and activists utilize it to spread messages across borders. Music is utilized to stand up for the underprivileged, as well as to speak out against the government and wicked religious organizations. Music is an expression of freedom from all forms of oppression.

MUSIC AND GONE-HIVE

I wasn't raised in a musical household. Church Hymns were the first music albums I heard. I started singing bass in the church choir when I was eleven years old; no one can deny that bass is the most powerful voice part among soprano, alto, and tenor.
My father had no interest in singing, in fact, he has a terrible voice, and as the proverb goes, "a lion cannot give birth to a goat," I think you can see why I couldn't sing well either.

untitled.gif

I had left the church choir at the age of 13 to join the church band. I adore drum sets; without them, there is no distinct sound. With a drummer, a band will never be flawless. My drum lessons went well, although I had trouble crossing the drum sticks as a left-handed person.
untitled.gif

I stopped drumming after I started college and realized I didn't have much time to train. My father was a big fan of African music, especially Fela Kuti, Osadebe, and Rex Lawson. These were songs he listened to during the civil war and afterward, so they meant a lot to him.
untitled.gif

My passion of music began at an early age, when my father inadvertently instilled traditional songs in me. I was awestruck by the King of Afrobeats Fela, he has the talent to write fantastic music. He was obsessed with music, which he used to convey messages across the African continent. I became so enamored with the new generation of Afrobeats musicians that I paid little or no attention to music outside of Nigeria, but things changed.

NUMBER 01: NO TIME TO DIE BY BILLIE EILISH

I like Generation Z; it's always remarkable to see how much of an impact we can have on the world at such a young age. Billie Eilish is on her way to becoming a legend in the music industry all around the world.

YpihifdXP4WNbGMdjw7e3DuhJWBvCw4SfuLZsrnJYHEpsqZFkiGGNCQMzVUX1x55qUjFLto7MAywkyUFxr2wBWZxcU22itFyed5TsQxZST5rz4zuUACmDHyexDLCkFPSakJrq9ruXqCCHn2n4i2P8CaNJzgAHeaUqr9Te1uZpuyG.png

HOW DID I LEARN ABOUT BILLIE EILISH?

My life had been really difficult, and everything appears to be going in the wrong direction. I was depressed, and nothing seemed exciting to me. Those around me could only send me messages, but they didn't understand what I was going through. Then a buddy of mine recommended the album "When we all fall asleep, where do we go?" to me, it was the start of something special.

untitled.gif

Yes, sorrow is an emotion that you don't want to live in forever, but the process of getting out of it takes time, and Billie came to my rescue. "Bad guy" was my favorite song on the record; it was so crazy that, even though I was depressed, I went insane when I heard it. Other songs, such as Ocean Eyes, Bored, When the Party's Over, and so on, have to be found. I am a die-hard fan of the singer. She's one of the rare singers whose voice has such a distinct tone that it pierces my heart.

MY FIRST FAVOURITE SONG IS"NO TIME TO DIE" BY BILLIE EILISH

The James Bond film series is fantastic, and Daniel Craig's performance in the film made me fall in love with him. He raised the bar for the James Bond character; he was clinical, smart, and astute—everything a great spy and hit man should be.

untitled.gif

The soundtrack for the final James Bond film starring Daniel Craig, No Time to Die, was published to honor the end of an era for a king.

Finneas' orchestral buildup for the beat was superb, and Billie's singing was firmer in the song; I could hear how forceful she sounded ( the producer who is a brother to Billie Eilish). It was a true Broadway classic with a strong friendship concept at its heart.
The opening lyric of the song gives a hint as to the plot of the story.

"I should've known
I'd leave alone
Just goes to show
That the blood you bleed
Is just the blood you owe"

The movie's opening scene implied that James Bond could have been betrayed by his best friend Madeleine, and Billie's lyrics were his response to the circumstance.
The next verse was a more sorrowful expression of James Bond's reaction to the claimed betrayal situation. It's uncommon to see a spy fall in love or trust someone, yet that's exactly how he felt in the verse.
Billie then goes on to sing magnificently, interrogating Madeleine on behalf of James Bond; these were the questions Bond was thinking about as the train left with Madeleine inside.

"Was I stupid to love you?
Was I reckless to help?
Was it obvious to everybody else
That I'd fallen for a lie?
You were never on my side
Fool me once, fool me twice
Are you death or paradise?
Now you'll never see me cry
There's just no time to die"

The chorus implied that James Bond had progressed from a close friend to a lover with Madeleine. He had fond recollections of her and was already smitten by her. As she sings, Billie swings the chorus across the lovely orchestral sounds:
In verse two, James Bond appears to have learned yet another lesson about trusting people. It wasn't so long the truth that was revealed later in the film as it was about how tough it was for James Bond to trust someone.

"We were a pair
But I saw you there
Too much to bear
You were my life
But life is far away from fair"

He had allowed his emotions to take control of him. Madeleine had not betrayed him, but he kept that to himself for a long time until he reunited with her again, this time discovering he has a kid with her, and when they most needed him, the greatest SUPER SPY could not be ith them. It went from being no time to die to being the time to die. It was painful to witness, and Billie's words provided the solace we needed to bear the pain.

NUMBER 02 ADELE- MY LITTLE LOVE

IMG_20220330_002641.jpg

[Source]

It's amusing how I pronounced her name as if it were a "Yoruba" name; I assumed she was from Nigeria until I heard her voice and saw her photo, and then I listened to her name pronunciation as well. It is one of the most famous musicians of all time.

YpihifdXP4WNbGMdjw7e3DuhJWBvCw4SfuLZsrnJYHEpsqZFkiGGNCQMzVUX1x55qUjFLto7MAywkyUFxr2wBWZxcU22itFyed5TsQxZST5rz4zuUACmDHyexDLCkFPSakJrq9ruXqCCHn2n4i2P8CaNJzgAHeaUqr9Te1uZpuyG.png

HOW I GOT TO KNOW ABOUT ADELE?

untitled.gif

Well, we know how the world of love works, you meet someone and you are sharing very happy moments with the person, suddenly you got served "Breakfast" which means "Breakup" in Nigeria. Immediately when it occurs, I reached out to Adele's song because they are natural, it was almost the same situation and it was comforting while you shed tears also. The most popular song by Adele was "Hello", everyone knew "Hello", Adele is a firepower, she is incredibly great, I cannot help but think about her voice range. The words are so clean and natural. She brings her personal experience in songs and we can all relate. I am a beautiful follower of the singer

MY SECOND FAVOURITE SONG IS MY LITTLE LOVE BY ADELE

IMG_20220330_003205.jpg

[Source]

I literally had to wait a long time to hear new Adele songs. Adele's ability to release a new song was hampered by the covid 19 pandemic, which was incredible to witness. Adele's fourth studio album, "30," was finally published, and it was a beautiful jewel to listen to."My little love," from the singer's "30" album, is my favorite song; it was definitely a song for me. I recall the singer having a son, and she told us about her son's upbringing. It conveyed feelings of melancholy, despair, and loneliness.

"My little love
I see your eyes widen like an ocean
When you look at me so full of my emotions
I'm finding it hard to be here, sincerely
I know you feel lost, it's my fault completely
Tell me you love me
I love you a million percent"

The song spoke to me since I lost my mother in an accident when I was four years old. I had to grow up with my father for a few years until he married again, and during those years, I imagined the emotions she felt before she died.
It wasn't about my emotions; it was about putting myself in a position to consider how my mother felt before she died. The idea of leaving home for a special occasion and never seeing your child again.

"I don't recognise myself in the coldness of the daylight
So I ain't surprised you can read through all of my lies
I feel so bad to be here when I'm so guilty
I'm so far gone, and you're the only one who can save me
Oi, I feel like you don't love me
Why do you feel like that?
Do you like-like me?
You know, mommy doesn't like anyone else like I like you, right?"

I imagined the thoughts going through her mind as she struggled to remain afloat in the river, and I worried that mom might not make it in time to put me to bed.
The fear that, after pledging to return to me, she might have failed me as a mother. I had to stay for years hoping she would return home one day, but she has yet to do so.

"I'm holding on (barely)
Mama's got a lot to learn (it's heavy)
I'm holding on (catch me)
Mama's got a lot to learn (teach me)"

Adele's song provided me with the closure I needed to communicate how I felt.
She'd never have to attend any of my school's meetings, parties, or gatherings. She would never come to any of my parties, see me, or even say I love you to me.
Fear that, despite her promise to return to me, she would fail me as a mother. I had to stay for years in the hopes that she would return home one day, but she never did.
Adele's song gave me the closure I needed to express how I was feeling.

NUMBER O3- BURNA BOY WITH THE SONG "YE"

untitled.gif

Burna Boy is one of the finest musician from the African continent. He developed a way of infusing several genres of music into Afrobeats. He redefined music and make us believe that anything is possible in life.

.YpihifdXP4WNbGMdjw7e3DuhJWBvCw4SfuLZsrnJYHEpsqZFkiGGNCQMzVUX1x55qUjFLto7MAywkyUFxr2wBWZxcU22itFyed5TsQxZST5rz4zuUACmDHyexDLCkFPSakJrq9ruXqCCHn2n4i2P8CaNJzgAHeaUqr9Te1uZpuyG.png

HOW DID I FIND OUT ABOUT BURNABOY?

In high school, everyone had a favorite musician, someone they respected and looked up to. Burna Boy, a gem I recently discovered, released a single called "Like to Party." I recall pleading with my pals to pay attention to him, insisting that he was Africa's next big thing, but they were uninterested, and I wondered why someone so good had been missed.

untitled.gif

Burna Boy grown in me, the young man just wanted to sing his life away. He kept dropping hits after hits, and those who appreciated good music fell in love with him. His voice is so distinctive that you could tell he was talented.
Burna Boy entered the worldwide state with the publication of his album "Outside," which swept the African continent.

MY THIRD FAVOURITE SONG IS "YE"

Ye was recorded in less than an hour at a Lagos nightclub by Phantom, who had no idea he was about to meet Burna Boy and that they would create a valuable jewel
Ye is about the average mentality of all Nigerians, if not Africans. We wake up everyday to struggles of life, we keep believing, we keep hustling, life has already handicapped us by giving us bad government and poor working system, we are just trying to close the gap.

untitled.gif

Everybody just wants to be saved, nobody wants to continue living in poverty or suffering, we just want to be healthy and wealthy. I am no different from the rest, I want to be a big man also, we just want to pull up with the G-wagons and Bentley. I want to enjoy myself, I want to enjoy all the good moments of life, I don't want to die yet, I want numerous mansions and money. Ye has transformed into a national anthem across the world, it has been used for revolution against the system.

Thanks temi, I am glad you appreciated it

Of course, I know how much music means to you so that is why I am not surprised to see you murder this topic.
Anything that should be said but is not mentioned in your post, that thing is irrelevant😂🤣
While I tend to enjoy songs by Adele and Billie Eilish, I have never really been their fan. They usually sing songs that are too sad for me. Adele is always chopping breakfast and Billie's song sounds like they will send me into depression.
But I have a close friend who loves her like mad😂
Until you included Burna... then your post became a happier one.
I guess, for you to love Adele and Billie, you definitely need to love someone like Burna unless na Breakfast go finish you las las.

This is very beautiful bro... thank you for sharing it with us.
